NFL, Brady file consent motion to expedite appeal briefing and argument schedule

This is real non-story. Nothing is happening here. However that being said, I'm one who believes that court is a great place for this case to be. The NFL has made SUCH a mess of this case that every step they take in court just opens them up to even more ridicule. They are wrong on the merits of the case. They are wrong on the legal parts of the case and they are wrong on the technical aspects of the case.

The faster this case winds to the end the better it is for Brady. If that is in 2016 so be it, but if it were next week, the only negative aspect of it would be any distraction it would be to Brady's preparation. IIRC in an appeal the parties no longer are part of the procedures anyway.

It's lawyers and the judge from now on....

So, in 2016, Brady will win Superbowl #5; 2nd Circuit will affirm the decision and USSC will deny cert.; Goodell will be fired; ESPN will declare bankruptcy.

If all this happens, will Brady officially be eligible for sainthood? :D

People often do that just to record them to read the attached links later.

I get lots of favorites on my tweets, but many of them are clearly of the kind I just described.

Fencer, there is a history of Revis making Deflategate comments the past few months.

I was talking to my neighbor (a circuit judge) this morning about this, he's read all the released legal documents from this case and is convinced that Berman's language in his filing pretty much makes the ruling appeal-proof

Berman mentioned "independent investigation" exactly like this, with quotes, all over the document with his decision, and a strong language. NFL is going to be 0-6.

Oh yeah! Well I was talking to my neighbor (unemployed crack head) and he feels the same way.:D

While I obviously don't expect Berman's decision to be overturned, and I'm happy that there's no way Brady will miss any time in the 2015 season, I don't like how part of the appeal schedule is in January 2016. That means two things:

1. Possible distraction for Brady during the playoffs
2. There will be more DeflateGate headlines and things we have to hear about during the playoffs when we just want to watch some freakin football.

I think Brady can deal with the distraction like he always has but I would hate for him to have to appear in a courtroom or something like that.

Also, will this all be dropped when the December game PSI measurements are released and we see that all footballs lose 1.2 PSI in cold weather??

It's good that the NFL has stuck to their tradition about leaking to a reporter (Carton), then shortly afterward trying/failing to put the screws to Brady, much like the disposing of the phone nonsense to SAS.

Brady won't be a courtroom unless he wants to. There's no need for anyone other than the lawyers to be there and even if he were there the court would not allow him to speak.

No, because the NFL will never let the true readings see the light of day.

It tells me I have to log in.

But I don't Twit or MyAss.

.

To each his own.

Twitter can be a good way to reach a lot of people, or to communicate with particular individuals you'd otherwise have a hard time reaching.

The NFL just really isn't that bright. Their sense of entitlement is astounding. They really just believe they can do whatever they wish. I almost feel sorry for them, they can't even see it.

It's beyond ridiculous. Just a buffoon on a power trip. Hope his tenure ends soon.

I wonder how much fan and media pressure there will be to show the results.
