I hope Edelman is not entering into the "welker hearing footsteps " stage of his career. I can only imagine after ALL the vicious hits the kid has taken....that he might be getting a little gun shy....but he RARELY ever drops that many balls.....he is one tough SOB.....love Edelman.....you are right about Amendola too....always seems to make a game changing or sealing catch when it matters

QUOTE="Wheelman, post: 4345148, member: 32095"]For every missed deep connection with Edelman there's an unbelievable Amendola catch.

A ton of points left on the board. Defense looked gassed at the end. Lots of work to be done. I hope we can improve. What a shame we couldn't blow out the bills.

I really wanted to see the arrogant bills fans cry. This will only give them hope. They'll chalk it up to the refs costing them the game.[/QUOTE]

You're bleeding all over the thread, and you're usually much, much better than this. The sneak was off the table, and that was dictated by the DL.

FFS, stop with the emoting crap.

The DL is always going to expect the sneak on 4th and 1 and line up to stop it. Has that stopped Brady from being wildly successful at it? Nope. The Bills DL did nothing exotic on either play. McDaniels got too cute and both attempts failed.

He picked the Bills to win the game ... a little salt on his wound.

Aye. I'm happy I was wrong. The interior OL held up in pass pro. What's with the "salt on the wound" crap?

You're wrong, and your argument is stupid. You're usually one of the board's best posters, but your stance on this is idiotic.

Patriots try short pass and fail - Didn't anyone learn from the Super Bowl?
Patriots try run and get stuffed - You've been passing at will all game, why run now?
Patriots try longer pass and miss by 3 inches - Patriots got greedy, etc...

It's the same stupidity, no matter what. 40 points put up, and people are still *****ing about the playcalling.

McDaniels shouldn't have dropped about 8 passes, including that fade in the endzone, and he shouldn't have completely blown a blocking assignment on the Brady strip sack, either, I suppose.

Your last paragraph is a red herring. I never attacked his play calling as a whole. Only on 4th down. He got cute and the end result was at least 6 points off the board. You can call my argument stupid until the cows come home but it's absolutely correct. You also forget that I'm someone that always defends the play calling. Can't do that on either 4th and 1 though.

Difference between Patriot Fans and Bills Fans. Bills fans walking away feeling optimistic that they hung in there and showed no quit (and made the end of the game in doubt...for all of 1 play). Some will probably blame the refs, but we'll excuse that as all fan bases have those (and only in a few cases is it actually true and this isn't one of them).

Patriot fans argue, whine, and debate about the finer points of what could have been done differently.

Was it last year, or the year before, where people were crying about this same thing on a couple of 3rd down calls?

It's really a shame to see that Patsfans.com still hasn't figured this out, yet.

No, it's ridiculously stupid. It's the sort of stupid I'd expect from Jets fans.

I have been a Mayo guy. I was in favour of bringing him back and was happy they got his contract under the original amount to allow him to be back this season.

He was used very rarely and - per Reiss - was slow on a couple of occasions (he was in the DOWN category). I don't know if it means (1) patience is the key and it'll get better as the season goes on (2) he is being eased in coming back from injury (3) in a passing league there is only room for 2 LBs most of the time and HT/Collins are just freaks or (3) he'll never be the Mayo I remember... Thoughts ?

Serious question. Did we only have one player running a route on those plays you are questioning?

small reason(s) to feel good.

Steelers put up 43 against the 49ers and we held them to 21 points. Perhaps our defense is better than it seems (and certainly better than the 4th quarteer)

Our offense and especially offensive line, played against a very loud crowd and against what everyone predicts is a top 3 DLine and held up nicely. Didn't plan for a running game, but went with a predictable passing game and still had plenty of success.

Your point, no matter how valid, gets lost when you belittle and degrade fellow posters. This just reads to me as juvenile.

My only concern is the late game collapses. Up 21-3 against Pitt, win 28-21 (though Pitt scored with 2 seconds left), up 37-13, and have to hang on for dear life to win 40-32, being out scored 19-3 in the 4th quarter. Sooner or later this will bite them in the ass.

That being said. It's early in the season, and the REAL Pats show up in late October/early November. And that's gotta be a scary thing for the rest of the NFL. The Pats are 2-0 beating 2 tough physical teams, and dominating both teams for the most part. They certainly look much better (offensively especially) than this time last season.

Everything looked good, except the obvious effort deflation in the second half. The defense became a little bit undisciplined...but, they got it back at the very end.

Its like the difference between Rex and Bill too

I recall one pass that Edelman probably should have caught and didn't, but even that wasn't egregious or anything. Unless I'm forgetting something, he otherwise caught everything that he could reasonably be expected to, and made a couple really nice grabs out of those. I'm not worried about that at all.

the 9ers defense retired or was cut.......Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Patrick Willis, Borland are all gone
