Art Shell, Romeo Crennel, Mike Singletary, Rahim Morris and Leslie Frazier all disagree.
Remember that Pittsburgh sticks with its coaches and is patient through down periods. Remember too that Herm only coached the Jets for 5 years, that he made the playoffs in 3 of those 5 years, won two playoff games, and only got fired after Pennington got hurt and Curtis Martin's wheels fell off.
Tomlin has appeared in two Super Bowls, won one, 5 playoff appearances, no losing seasons, all while rebuilding every part of his roster except for QB. He's earned his keep, at least for another year or two. He is a mediocre tactician, but not a bad coach.
To suggest this is a race issue is ignorant both socially and from a football perspective.
You forgot Marvin Lewis and Lovie Smith. I respect your opinion and won't reciprocate with an insult. Have a good day.
