Wondering if anyone else is having similar thoughts. I'm worried, but not about the outcome of the game, I'm not sure watching an NFL game will ever feel the same to me. I can't shake the thought that the league office is trying to fix the sport and the lengths they are going to. They try to end this season for the Patriots by suspending the quarterback for 4 games, then try to hurt them long term by taking draft picks. I feel like I'm about to watch the first baseball game after the 1919 world series. Yikes.

"grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Why worry about something you cannot control?

If last year taught us anything, it is that one regular season game loss will not end your season.

Especially the first game of the year.

Just enjoy it.

I share your same exact thoughts. Here's what I wrote in different thread:
Goodell doesn't want to suffer the humiliation of giving the Patriots the Lombardi.....so how far will he go to prevent this from happening?

I know, it sounds ridiculous. But after the release of the two stories yesterday following the embarrassment of Judge Berman's decision, it's clear the League has a vendetta against the team, and they do not want the Patriots to come out on top of this, in any way.

Besides, nearly every NFL network analyst is picking the Colts to win Superbowl 50... so my guess is the League has already anointed their AFC contenders. The only thing keeping them from succeeding are the Pats.

I wonder how far they will go.

I'm only worried about the oline. If the league wants to try and f us on national TV, they are dumber than comprehension.

this is all I feel

If you look at the punishment he handed out, it is a clear and deliberate effort to diminish the Patriots ability to succeed, not to adequately assess and fairly discipline anyone.

I am worried about the officiating. I don't think the league will attempt to fix the game but I do think they will be harsher with us on penalties and let a lot of things slide for the Steelers. That said, we do need to come out guns blazing and set the tone for the season. The Steelers weak point is their secondary so we just need to light them up and make a statement.

I kind of hope they do. I hope they try to rig it against us. Make bogus calls. Hinder things as best they can. Know why? Because they are so incompetent that they can't even get their stories straight on whether investigations were independent. They're so stupid they thought that court was a slam dunk win for them in New York. They're so blinded by their arrogance that they'll probably leave a print out in the lobby of the NFL offices of an e-mail that says, "Hey Mike, don't forget to tell the refs to let air out of the footballs today so we can frame the Patriots - Roger."

Meanwhile, we'll keep winning regardless, and the NFL will look like complete buffoons. These halfwits don't have enough whole marbles in their thick melon skulls to pull off a conspiracy like that without getting caught.

I'm puttin this look on right now and it's gonna stay until the end of the game

No. I'm actually even more pumped up than ever before.

>Goodell doesn't want to suffer the humiliation of giving the Patriots the Lombardi....

How could that be worse than the commish handing the Lombardi to Ray Lewis? That has to be the low point in the history of the NFL.

Winning multiple SBs is worse than genocide, don'tcha know?

Could we talk tonight's game? Brady is back. So who cares what the haters or the league want to distract you from the Pats play. I will get involved when there is an appeal in the courts. We are being taken off our game by the distractions and many of you are hung up about proving or arguing the Pats case. Beat them on the field. I don't care who sings at the pre game I care about who wins tonight's game only. I don't want the Pats to run up the score at the expense of an Injury. I just want a win now.

Lets Go Pats I say 27-24 Pats

Go Pats. It's football time and our team is the winner

I have no such worries. I have both middle fingers ready to ward off any attempted wrongdoing by haters and league officials. And I fully expect that Tom MotherF.cking Brady can handle anything my middle fingers can't.

Every time we lose the opener, we win the SB, so tonight is a no-lose situation. I'll have my feet up enjoying the fact that the New England Patriots are the most relevant, polarizing, and interesting sports franchise in the country. If nothing else, that's pretty cool. 27-21 Pats.

I'm worried about charges getting pressed against us for what is about to happen to the Steelers.
