@BestofBSMW This is what I wrote: "Tom Brady ... expressing his excitement for being able to play but also disappointment over the ordeal.

Mike Reiss ‏@MikeReiss 34m34 minutes ago
@dewey4HOF @BestofBSMW I am passing along to you what I wrote to post on the site. That is what I put my name on. Will see what is up

Mike Reiss ‏@MikeReiss 30m30 minutes ago
@BestofBSMW I never wrote those words and my byline should have never been attached to it.

Mike Reiss ‏@MikeReiss 29m29 minutes ago
@Willie_Jacobsz @BestofBSMW You are 100 percent correct and I 100 percent did not write that. My name should not be attached to that

Mike Reiss ‏@MikeReiss 28m28 minutes ago
@Willie_Jacobsz @BestofBSMW The story I wrote is right here: http://es.pn/1KweeCH

@doncabesa16 @BestofBSMW You are 100 percent correct. I never wrote that & my name should not have been attached to it.

Mike Reiss ‏@MikeReiss 26m26 minutes ago
@NewEngland50 Don't believe they changed anything. A story might have been started independently until mine was delivered.

Mike Reiss ‏@MikeReiss 26m26 minutes ago
@NewEngland50 My name, however, should not have been attached to anything that wasn't sent in by me.

Mike Reiss ‏@MikeReiss 23m23 minutes ago
@therealtommydel @Boda45 @BestofBSMW My name should have never been attached to a story that was started independently.

@therealtommydel @Boda45 @BestofBSMW It was a mistake. Would hope it wasn't on site long, but shouldn't have happened.

what planet am i on. 2020 I'll have to defend against "YEAH, BUT WHY DID TOM APOLOGIZE TO THE NFL???"

U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E.

The coke heads in Bristol are now trying to do THAT to Mike Reiss?

Further proof that ESPN and the NFL headquarters are one and the same.

When you work for the press, your editors and copy editors are allowed to change things that appear under your byline. That's just how the process works.

Of course, they shouldn't change your meaning; it's a major failure if they do. But while I've published fewer than 100 press articles in my life, I've prevented such major errors only because I negotiated a right to an extra round of approval that salaried reporters don't get.

I can't find those tweets or the ESPN lies anywhere. Could they have been removed ?

Reiss' company screwed up; he apologized for the error. This is not the biggie people are making it out to be.

Yes, it is suggestive of their biases as to the facts of the matter, but that's nothing new.

The Reiss article on the ESPN site has been fixed.

On Twitter he said he hoped the error was corrected quickly.

It is not a biggie in and of itself, but all the changes and errors his overlords are making to what was once understood as "his" blog indicate they want to keep the readership he brought with him, but first minimize and then discard Reiss.

Right. It's the ESPN Patriots blog, much of which is written by Mike Reiss and some more of which is written by his interns, not the Mike Reiss blog. And it's not nearly as good as if it really were the Mike Reiss blog, some of which is written by his interns.

This a new level of suckage for ESPN
