Don't mean to rain on everyone's parade but there is one thing to consider going forward. Pats have to be like Caesar's wife, "above reproach" because you know the league will be gunning for them looking for even the smallest misstep....
I just hope that Jonathon Kraft has the stones enough to say to the league when it inevitably comes looking for blood," bring it on b*tches. I've got Kessler on speed dial."

Screw that, Kraft should act like Brutus and conspire when Roger least expects it. Et tu, Robertus?

45-7 seems like a nail biter, compared to today's epic rout.

Won't the NFL's appeal involve discovery? Are those investigation documents going to see the light of day?

No. The appeal will only take into consideration the record of the federal court case and nothing else. There won't be any new anything (other than citations to more and more and more cases :) ).

Where have you been? It's been like that for 9 years. The NFL is the one who has to be careful. The entire Pats fanbase is all over it.

I think right now personnel in the league office are a little more concerned with the potential fall out from this than ensuring the Patriots get penalized.

We've already seen the departure of their Chief of PR resign. Who's next?

**** silver...his true feeling came out months ago.
tom knows who his real friends are. the joe thiesmans of the world...

Mike silver made me want to reach through the screen and strangle the life out of him when this first broke.. he made it sound like Brady was a child molester or something and just went on and on about how horrible he was for doing this... all based off of the Mort report mind you

You know, I have re-examined my acceptance of the Sean Peyton suspension after this whole fiasco. I will no longer just accept the NFL's version of things through my rose-colored fan glasses when another team is put through this BS.
I will step up and admit that, when this happened to the Saints, my reaction was "Ha! Now you see what it feels like to be ****ed over by the NFL. You didn't help us when we needed it, so you're not getting any sympathy from me now! Deal with it!"

I now regret taking that position, even though I fully understand why I did so.

FWIW, this is why Berman asked Kessler to read some pro-Brady stuff into the record; because that made it part of any future appeal.

In hindsight, that moment was extremely telling re: which way Berman was leaning.

"But, but, but deflated footballs!!!"

"Spygate!!!! Taping Super Bowl practices!!!!"

"Cheaters! Bunch of cheaters!!!!"

HAHAHAHAHAHA GIVE ME ALL THE TEARS!!!!!!

ALL OF THEM!!!!

No, need either Brady, McNally or Jastremski to file suit for defamation etc.... or Kraft to go to court on penalties. McNally or Jastremski have the easiest course as they are not public figures, have been accused of being part of a conspiracy that updated science and statistics said had a .4% chance of happening.

Their discovery would include all the bad apples, they electronic communications, phone calls etc... Goodell, Pash, Wells, Exponent, Princeton guy, Kensil, Vincent.

Kraft needs to ask permission to reinstate now. Let the NFL decline.

Quantum, You have been one hell of a source on this. Thanks.

Same, I didn't come around to the fact that the Saints got screwed until well after the fact. Wish I'd had the perspective at the time that I only eventually gained later.

In general, if we all take this as a stark reminder that bad intentions are a thing and accusations mean nothing, we'll be better off for it.

HOW DO WE FEEL ABOUT TOM BRADY'S SUSPENSION BEING OVERTURNED?!?

People are over-blowing the PR Chief leaving. He left the employ of the NFL to work for the PR firm that is employed by the NFL. Hence, he's still working for the NFL, just indirectly now..

More so now though. They just got publicly emasculated in Federal Court and they have to be looking for blood as a way to get revenge or prove that the Patriots are cheaters........
I still say that every NFL official at Gillette should be given a 24/7 escort while on the premises, for their own protection of course......
