"

“Our primary goal is to protect the competitive equity. We want the game to be decided on the field, between the two teams.”

Blake Jones, director of NFL football operations"

"competitive equity"...way to dumb it down for us unwashed morons out here, Blake...have another slice of pate de foie gras and a sip of Cristal...

"Teams feel better when you’re there. They just see you there and realize nobody’s really going to try to take advantage of any of the rules."

MIKE KENSIL, VICE PRESIDENT OF GAME OPERATIONS

“Certain [visiting] teams feel better when you’re there,” especially for heated contests"

I'm almost speechless. This mystifyingly arrogant warthog sees himself as "The Soother" ???????? What?

"
“I will go in there before the game and say, 'How you doing? I just want to let you know I'm here today, and I'm keeping an eye on what you do. I'm not saying that you're doing anything wrong; I'm just saying I don't want to have to come down here.'"

Mike Kensil, Vice President of Game Operations"

Heh...my ribs hurt. THIS is where we have come to since "The Enforcer" took over in 2006. THIS! Blazing Saddles flashes before my eyes...

Taggart: Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into town, a-whompin' and a-whumpin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course.

Hedley Lamarr: You spare the women?

Taggart: Naw, we rape the **** out of them at the Number Six Dance later on.

Hedley Lamarr: Marvelous!

The last segment of this "official" league governance says it best though...

"
The NFL takes infractions of Game Operations rules seriously — so much so that clubs risk fines as high as $500,000 for violations “affecting the competitive aspects of the game.” Some violations, such as late arrival for kickoff, can result in yardage penalties, and failure to comply with a uniform policy can result in a player’s temporary removal from the game.

The league takes violations seriously because it takes its responsibilities seriously. Good governance is an essential component in producing a fair, safe and entertaining game."

as high as 500, ooo!!! Except of course , in the case of "more probable than not"...then it escalates into the "double secret probation range" of millions.

BRING ON THE CLOWNS!!! THE NFL IS RUNNING THE GREATEST SHOW ON TURF!

Is it more probable than not that when Kensil roamed the sidelines during the Baltimore game and commented to a Patriots Coach that they were f....ed, that he compromised the much heralded ,"competitive equity??"

The rhetoric sounds good, but in reality is all just bullshyt.. have to remember that this NFL inner crew is littered with "Jets has beens" and "Jets failures".. so they do not have a clue about competitive equity.. their idea of this equity BS is "Drunk Joe" trying to get Suzie Kolber to kiss him on a national broadcast..

"I don't want to have to come down there."

Seriously? What arrogance.

Someone needs to do some life counciling with Kensil. Anybody who relishes being the "heavy" has major insecurity issues.

Rumor is that in 97 Tuna had BB figure out gameday ops. Because he was threatened, Kensil tried to bully BB and undermind him in organizational meetings. BB would have none of it and shredded him.

Who the f__k does he think he is?

John Harbaugh "delivering the goods" to Mike Kensil.... more "competitive equity".

The NFL front office is run like a bunch of Keystone cops.

What a complete and utter Napoleon-complexed spitefull Nazi prick he is, huh? He reminds me of that assistant principal in Jr. High everyone hated. Nothing like putting a guy with an agenda in a position of authority.

Anyone else feel like maybe his position has gone to his head? What a douche.

The NFL is a casino. They THINK BB n TB are counting the cards but they can't prove it. Better throw em out before they increase their winnings.
The beauty of this analogy is that counting cards isn't even cheating; it's just playing the game at another level that most of your competition can't reach.

And I thought they broke up the Soviet Union.

If there was ever a time for Karma to kick in this would be the time.

When Brady lifts up his next Lombardy trophy........how painful will that be for these yahoos?

Any of you guys think Kensil reads this board?

How exactly is fining a player, or keeping that player from actually playing, because of the state of his socks, supposed to help competitive equity?

These clowns aren't even trying to be rational.

I hope someday the real criminals like Polian, Harbaugh, and Irsay get outed for who they are. Those are the real guys ruining the integrity of the game.

The counting cards metaphor is a great one, because that's EXACTLY what the Pats have been doing to the NFL. They have simply been playing the game at a higher level despite having equal physical talent. What the NFL has done is essentially try to even the playing field by making heretofore legal strategies illegal simply because the rest of the league isn't smart enough or want to work hard enough to implement them. Just like Vegas made card counting illegal simply because it skewed the odds in the player's favor for a change.
