I never used the dislike or disagree button... Do not tempt me

Grapes goes back to holding the iPad. Period. His time will come.

Sit? on your face.

I think a 4-0 Garoppolo would warrant a first round pick. A somewhat proven commodity vs a first round draft crap shoot would be very tempting for a bottom tier team lacking a quarterback.

The Pats would be all over that. Then that GM will be told they are immediately relieved of their duties as general manager of their team.

Could do a little read option with JG if they were inclined.

Dunno if the Pats have the personnel to make it work well.

the 2 OGs they drafted this year are go

I don't use the dislike button very often up here but this thread is just in poor taste. Look around you. Don't you see what's going on?

Why? It is what it it.

Here's my standpoint on it. I have an unreasonable amount of faith in Jimmy, so I think 4-0 is highly probable but the job is Brady's no matter what. Any other season I would say let the best guy play(one day it could be Jimmy), but I don't care if Brady goes on to lose every game this upcoming season because he deserves to play after the scrutiny the NFL has placed on him.

Anyone have thoughts on what will happen if Garoppolo goes out these 4 games (hopefully reduced with an impartial arbitrator... that Wells report seemed curiously biased) and kills it? If Brady is going to play another 2-3 years, it raises an interesting dilemma in my mind.

Of course you play Brady as long as he keeps up his high level of play. With his arm strength not diminishing at age 38 and his offseason workouts still rigorous, I don't see any reason why he can't maintain his level of play.

Yet if Garoppolo is sensational these 4 games (a little unlikely I know) I wonder if you feel comfortable just leaving him on the bench to kinda rot for another 2-3 years. I don't think you can trade him given Brady is at the end of his career and franchise quarterbacks are hard to find.

The rest of the NFL will say the Patriots conspired with Goodell to get Brady out.

Well we all just laugh at goodell and the rest of the league. It really would be the ultimate FU

Let's pump Moss full of HGH and get him back!

Matt Schaub played well in one start and was traded for two second round picks to the Texans. Cassel would have been traded for more than a high 2nd round pick if he was still on his rookie contract.

If Garoppolo tears it up for four games, near the top of the league in most stats, he will be worth two 1st round picks. Considering we don't have one in 2016, it will be enticing to take offers. I would never make the trade if Garoppolo looked that good though.

the pats will have the best QB depth in the NFL

and if you're paying attention, the QB's coming into the league for the most part are no sure bets

if you wind up with one for the kind of $$ that he costs (Garoppolo) you keep him, you hand the ball back to Brady with more confidence than ever before

Belichick will play the better quarterback regardless of pedigree or past accomplishments. This was manifest back in 2001 between Bledsoe and Brady.

Kinda spoiled by Tom because QBs rarely get off to fast starts when given a job, young.....growing pains,etc..

Seeing how the two draft selections are gone and how long is BB gonna coach when Tom retires....?? It is a possibility that he could get shopped...

This thread justifies the practice forum..

Jimmy G lights it up and we get a bunch of second round picks for him next year.

Brady will be fresh for the playoff push and pissed off more than ever. When handed the Trophy, Kraft whacks Goodell in the head with it, not a jury in the world would convict him.....

It won't be Garropolo that goes 4-0, it will be the Patriots as a team. It will be players on the defense forcing turnovers, and guys like Gronk that make a statement.

I also think this makes its way to an arbitrator who reduces the suspension.

That would be great.

When Brady returns, good luck to the rest of the league.

I agree that Brady probably wins the appeal, might not have to sit at all.

Figure BB has to be loving this. He just got handed the ultimate us-versus-them motivator for a team that's traditionally great at circling the wagons and overcoming adversity. He's got a really good chance of having Brady get the suspension overturned on appeal, and regardless of when he plays #12 will be motivated as never before. Backing up Brady he's got a good talent with the potential to step in and do even better than Matt Cassell did when Brady was injured.

I think the team as a whole is going to be out to make this the ultimate FU season. Should be fun to watch.
