Yeah, but pink hats aren't real fans. They like going to games, but more for social aspect of it. Half the pink hats I see when I go to games are so busy talking, guzzling beers, and eating hotdogs that I don't even think they realize a game is going on.
And very few pink hats are die hard. Toucher and Rich make fun of them every year by geting Adolfo to go to games and ask them basic Red Sox questions that they cannot answer.
The last Bankofamericasox game I attended was a playoff game several years ago vs. Tampa. People all around me were chatting, reading the newspaper and fiddling with their smartphones. A PLAYOFF game. I've seen more attentive crowds at the airport.Yeah, but pink hats aren't real fans. They like going to games, but more for social aspect of it. That's not what I said. Again, if/when the Patriots lose again, we will see if this is a football town. Honestly, I could care less. I'm not buying that Boston is no longer a baseball town when Patriots are down. Just my opinion. To think if the Pats get bad that people in this area will stop being fans is crazy.
When did that happen? A #2 pre-season football game is in August and the baseball playoffs are in October! They can't.
The Pats #2 preseason game being more watched than a Red Sox playoff game is the one punch knockout.
Why will Boston always be a baseball town when numbers prove otherwise? More people watch Pats #2 preseason game in the boston area then a red sox playoff game...
People that say it's always a baseball town need to post some facts for it to be true
Ok........not sure how I would post facts for my assumption regarding the future? Like I noted earlier, it's a football site and I didn't think my post would receive rave reviews.

I don't care about stories like this ... I'm a homer fan and in the Patriots - Red Sox - Bruins - Celtics and Revolution I'm doing well ... doing very well for my local teams. Good ownership and management and team structure for all of them.
You speak as if the two sports are equal. Baseball is sinking into anachronism because it is slow, dull, and tradition-bound. Football is much more dynamic and youth oriented. As others here have pointed out, this transcends relative success on the field.First, I am a football fan and love my Patriots above all other Boston teams. Having said that, Boston will always be a baseball town. The true test is when the Patriots begin losing (God forbid). Its' easy to proclaim #1 status when your winning.
