Sign the Beast LII: Bengals CB Terence Newman?

Lots of talk about him on the rumors thread.

Maybe pats calendar is wrong and they have april 1st on it

Shouldn't he be collecting AARP at this point? Guy is 36 years old. Would we be moving him to safety?

I think pats are taking a CB in the 1st or 2nd Round. Newman is for depth, or if the kid isn't ready

Age is just a number...a number that often correlates directly to how much time left playing at a high level.

But, some people beat that definition (Brady) by keeping their body in elite shape, and apparently Newman is similar. It sounds ridiculous on papers that a 36 year old corner could compete out there with 22 year old kids, but I'd be curious to see what Bengals fans think.

Vet min for depth/camp fodder.

It's cool guys, the league will provide an exception for the chair.

I think that the Patriots should give Ty Law a call. Eight million per year guaranteed should do it.
The Patriots will be embarrassed when a 36 year old turns them down.

He's no better than Butler, Dennard, or Arrington. Please no.

Sign the Beast!....oh wait...

They should sign him and sign Mathis (35). They would get along well. They could go to Bingo together. Tell kids to get off their lawn. Talk about how expensive things are these days.

They would have a blast together.

If we're going to bring in old cornerbacks, I'd prefer Rashean Mathis. Newman's play has decline precipitously over the last couple seasons.

Pats sign Newman and they can give Kramer a call while they are at it.......

This would feel like a Chad Brown/Joey Galloway desperation move. No thank you.

I am starting to think player just visit to drive the price up on the other team. but I don't care what this player cause I don't want the pats to sign a 37 year old CB

I know that resigning Revis was a long shot and the word is that Browner was only valuable because of Revis, but jiminy crickets the idea of signing this guy as a back-up plan is enough to push me back to the ledge. I can't go through another season of a swiss cheese seconday. Especially after last year.
