The New York Post article ranks the top 25 free agents and speculates the team they will sign with.

DMAC is rated #5 and they speculate he will go to the Jags. I hope not but you can't keep them all with the cap in place.

Guess the NY Post hasn't realized that the Pats can keep both Revis and McCourty.

Just by extending Revis to a top market deal Pats free up cap space for 2015.

I forget who I was listening to on the radio, but they made a great point about how McCourty's twin brother could be a positive influcence for us. he can tell Devin about how bad life in the duldrums of the NFL is (jason is on the titans) and not to take winning for granted.

Is DMC deserving of a contract @ $9m AAR est $25m guarantees? Debatable

I'd be surprised if McCourty ends up anywhere else. He seems like a guy that likes it too much here and isn't going to sweat a few $. Also seems like a guy who we'd be willing to make one of the higher paid at his position anyway, as - in spite of our reputation - we are not hesitant to do.

He's got three teams losing two FA's: BAL, DAL, DEN
He's got two teams picking up three FA's: JAX, OAK
He's got two teams picking up two FA's: NYJ, TEN

The Pats can't franchise Revis. The safety tag isn't that high. Why in the world would they let DMac walk?

I'll be shocked if he leaves - does BB really think Harmon or Ryan is ready to fill that role?

Where is this $9m being reported? But $7-$8m per is not debatable that is pretty much the market for him. Reshad Jones and Michael Griffin are both at $7m AAV.

I'll be (in the words of Tiki Barber) flabbergasted if Dmac isn't playing in New England next year. He's exactly the type of guy who you aren't afraid to give big money to. Highly talented, highly intelligent, and a pro's pro. Don't think he's the type of guy who wants to get big money in a ****ty place.

Anyone who spends big money on Foresett is an idiot. Another product of that zone blocking Shannahan run scheme.

Yep. And, in the case of the **** show in the Meadowlands being attractive to two of them is wishful thinking on the part of a New York writer.

The NY Post is dumb, and has no idea where any of these free agents are going to go.

Byrd, Berry and Thomas are a $9m AAVw/ approx $25m in guarantees.

Yes, I live in NYC and most of the folks I know would say that putting the words "NY Post" and "dumb" in the same sentence is kind of redundant.

What's the franchise tag for safeties right now? I would expect that to happen assuming it's less than 9 mil.

Oh okay, I thought it would be in the 8's. Well, even at 9.5, you could tag him just so you know you have him and don't HAVE to worry about negotiations immediately. You can pay that 9.5 and continue negotiating the rest of the year, while spending this time really focused on locking up Revis long term and other impending FAs they would wanna resign like Ridley or Vereen perhaps. Then restructures can happen, and you can nail down a contract with McCourty any time in the year.

The Patriots would sacrifice Wilfork and/or Mayo before losing McCourty.
