Of all the current scandals besieging the NFL - why is the one that requires the least investigation also the one that we have heard least about?

After 2 weeks of ongoing BS, speculation and NFL leaks - it seems as if the the Deflategate nonsense has conveniently died a death - I say conveniently, because it looks more and more as if the Colts are not just the instigators of this brouhaha but also potentially attempted to frame the Patriots.

Suddenly 'Textgate' has taken centre stage - the hapless Browns guilty of gross stupidity that didn't even benefit them in a competitive sense.

Despite all this, the Jets have not had to answer for the illegal comments for their owner - its a textbook case of tampering as defined by the NFL rulebook.

We've heard from Bonehead Goodell - that 'rules are rules, and we follow the rule book' - typically he was talking about a Patriots investigation....

So why aren't we hearing more about the Jets transgressions?

I've personally already mailed Reiss on the subject - we need to get this back into the public domain and get some answers.

"The Browns are one of three teams being investigated for allegedly breaking rules during games. The Patriots are also being investigated for Deflategate, while the Falcons are being investigated for Noisegate."
(Pro FootBall Talk )

As in this article, no mention whatsoever of the New York infraction (TamperGate). That is as blinded and unfair as sports journalism can be.

So much for the INTEGRITY of the Game

Anything the Patriots does is exponentially worse in the eyes of the idle press, it is a by product of being a dynasty..

What Atlanta or Cleveland does is only local news or a byline on the big stage.

Integrity and NFL can never again be mentioned in the same sentence..

Latest word is that the Patriots mailed a video to the league, which is in a pile somewhere next to the Ray Rice elevator tape and Jimmy Hoffa's body.

Of course it's been buried, doesn't even exist and isn't being investigated.

Based on the Jet's punishments, or lack there of, in the Goodell era, I'd say a private apologize will suffice. If it were anyone else, it should be swapping of 3rd round picks and 5th round pick to the Patriots as well as Revis being ineligible signing with the Jets for one year.

Tampergate is so yesterday...it's TAMPONGATE today....Rogerella looks a little more bloated than usual.

You Twits on Twitter need to query the sports journalists (sic) about the Jets' tampering status

To be fair, an ESPN article on Textgate did mention Tampergate as one of four.

The last two cases of tampering involved a swap of picks. That's what we better get. The 6th we got from Tennessee should be swapped for their 5th. Case closed.

I know they haven't done this before but wouldn't it make sense that Jets can't acquire Revis for a year?

Precedent, consistency and making sense will have no bearing on Commissioner Clouseau's Jets ruling

Forcing a wretched franchise like the Rats to hand over something of value to the team that just won the Superbowl is just plain mean.

I'd say swapping the Rats 3rd round pick for the Pats' 1st should be sufficient to teach the Pats to leave well enough alone and to stop picking on the weak sisters.

The theory is - why should Revis be punished for the Jets' stupidity? If he wants to sign there, go right ahead. But the Jets need to pay the price for tampering regardless.

If Revis signs with the Jets, then that sounds like punishment enough for his stupidity in doing so.

Thankfully I am 99% sure he is not stupid enough to do that.

Our favorite NFL team just won the Super Bowl. We can now joyfully look towards next season.

Nah. Let's make threads crying about an incomplete, but obvious "nothing to it but to decide how much to punish a dumbass owner for not keeping his mouth shut" kind of tampering investigation, when the Patriots own investigation is also incomplete!
