Didn't like his tone. Costas gave him a couple of opportunities to say ..listen, I was not involved whatsover...but he just said, let's just wait to see what facts come out. That's 2 interviews now where he refuses to say point bblank that he wasn't involved.

Sounds like he want to say he is tired of the speculation or the NFLPA doesnt want him to talk about it but yes he didnt come out looking good. He is getting killed in the media right now after the interviw

If he says, "I wasn't involved," the implication is that the balls were tampered with, even if he didn't do it.

Costas had already made up his mind that they were tampered with. A denial (which Brady did in his presser, IIRC) doesn't change a thing.

Once the facts come out (and if they exonerate the Pats) he doesn't have to bother to deny anything.

I agree with everyone but that interview just added fuel to the fire in the public perception. The media is running with it now .

Costa basically had one question: Do you still beat your wife?

Essentially Costas made the assumption the balls were tampered with and wanted Brady to say "I didn't ask anyone to tamper with them." Brady basically refused to entertain the proposition the balls were tampered with or answer questions about the motives of why someone may or may not do something that we don't know happened.

It would be nice if Brady was more combative about addressing speculation and hearsay, but that has never been his or any Patriots MO. Yes, I think they are coached with some rules like.

Never answer what someone else will do or say- you don't know (like will the NFL do this? Will people say that? Don't know, ask them).

The media was out of control and going to run with it either way. They've been running 2 weeks solid without even a legit carrot in front of their noses. Brady interview was either going to get spun that he's lying or he sounded guilty. He literally could've said anything and it wouldn't matter, I don't think.

It's a toss-up which one had me diving for the skip button on the DVR faster. Bob Costas or Johnny Weir in drag.

Come to think of it, it was hard to tell them apart....
