Tampering charges filed for Woody Johnson and the Jets

But it aint gonna happen with Goodell involved.

This is Roger "The hardass" Goodell we're talking about here. The Jets will surely be punished at least this much, because this is blatantly violating the rules after having been warned.

The nice thing about a swap with the Jets, it would be similar to (The Patriots) having an extra pick in the round above (based on where we each draft)

No need to apologize. You are still a great poster. He is still a gigantic doosh-nozzle.
I'm not saying that I'm not a gigantic doosh-nozzle, but isn't it against forum rules to call me one?

:)

We can only hope that Goodell issues his punishment based on the infraction, rather than on how pathetic the offender is.

I tend to doubt it. I don't think that would withstand scrutiny by the legal system. Since, theoretically he would be telling Revis where he couldn't work as well as telling the Jets who they couldn't sign.

Something the Commish can do is that if Revis does sign with the Jets, then the Jets will incur an additional 10 mil cap hit on top of Revis's cap hit

I just hope this doesn't backfire along the lines of Revis thinking "Hmm -- for obvious reasons, they don't want me to know what other possibilities are out there ..."

This will go nowhere and the timing is stupid.

But Woody was already warned after the Jets tampered with Desean Jackson. I'm hoping Goodell, even though he's seen as a Jets lackey, gets a little indignant because his warning was ignored and wants to make a show of his "independence"and really slaps the Jets hard.

Either way, I would be surprised if we see any punishment before the 2015 draft. Even though it was very blatant and public, in the past, tampering cases have taken longer than a year to be resolved.

One reason to delay punishment is to see where the tampered-with player end up, on what sort of a contract.

Angling for that lower draft pick I see... :)

The result is meaningless. The offense is what it is. The heart of the rule is to prevent having to overpay to keep your player. So waiting will be meaningless.

Since it's Revis in his prime I want a 1st round pick exchange. The rats pick 32nd and we pick top 5. :D

I read that the last tampering charge to be punished was a swapping of 5th round picks and the team losing their 7th rounder.

If we could get maybe a swapping of 3rds due to possibly the blatant nature that would be amazing.

He has already established the jest can do no wrong...

Jest video taping us in Foxboro after spy gate...

If anyone else saw Revis soaking of the SB appearance and his jealousy of the rookies...I like our chances to find a middle ground after the big game.
