Completely agree. Don't understand the people in this thread under rating Seattle. I consider their defense one of the better defenses in NFL history, and the Pats offense isn't that great if you can get to Brady and take Gronk out of the game, 2 things I think Seattle could do easily. We've seen it time and time again too, a good defense starts to get to Brady and he gets skittish in the pocket and we start dinking and dunking it down the field because it's the only way to move the ball.
Wilson's mobility is so under rated too, he has almost 1,000 yards rushing and 6 TDs on the season. His ability to extend plays with his feet and find open guys is amazing. Would much rather play GB or Dallas in the Super Bowl but I don't see anyone beating SEA at home.
I think you are getting caught up in the media hype and highlight reels, designed to make teams look better than they really are. I've seen three Seahawks games this season, I know it's not a lot to judge them by, but I didn't see this "Greatest Defense of All-Time," and the unstoppable Russell Wilson that you and everybody else is seeing. Aaron Rodgers played like crap in that opener, he was way too conservative, especially for him. There was nothing memorable about Seattle's D, offense or that game honestly. The Carolina game, I know Newton was injured, though he sucked before the injuries, but he and his O-line were playing like complete trash and Russell Wilson wasn't playing any better. The Denver game, I saw Manning in one quarter tie the game after being shut out through the majority of the game, that old man versus, this so-called young, fast and physical defense. No. Imagine if he had got the ball back first in OT. Probably would've won it.
It is easier for us to see problems with the Patriots, because we see them on a week-to-week basis. I'm sure other teams' fan-bases are talking about how scary the Patriots offense look and how bad it is to play against Revis' Island and the genius of Belichick, they don't see our putrid O-line or how bad or suspect Ryan, Dennard, Butler, McCourty(yes he's garbage) and Arrington in the secondary is. In fact, they think the O-line is good, because statistically Brady is among the least sacked QBs in the league and ESPN is quick to remind them that the Patriots are the class of the AFC, during seasons where Manning sucks.
I remember being at the Saints and Patriots game last season. Everybody was leaving, but the Saints fans, and there was a whole section of them across from my section, didn't believe the game was over, the one lady said, it's hard to count out Brady. I told her good luck and congratulated her team and was heading out of there. I got to the bottom level and went to get one last peak of the game, when I saw the TD and the crowd erupt and thought HOLY **** HE DID IT! That's when I realize opposing fans have more faith in the Patriots than we do.
And I would love to see Sherman getting physical and yapping at Gronk. He'll find out what physical play is when he's layed out in the stands.
I believe Sherman was defending Jimmy Graham against the Saints in the playoff game last year, so I wouldn't be surprise if they try to put him on Gronk. Gronk will kick his little puney behind out of the club too.
