Blount Signs with Pats (2yr deal)

I don't like the signing, only because of the way he parted with the Steelers. Having said that, he's still useful and a good bowling ball.

The one player I DO NOT want to see cut is Devey. He more than showed his worth as a full back against the Colts, and he's been consistent with his playing, likely getting even better considering his increased playing time.

At this point, it's more likely that 2 players will be transferred to IR than cut. That's my own opinion, anyway. They'll find a couple lower-tier guys with injuries sufficient enough to get them transferred to IR and be available for next year.
Are you confusing Devey with Devlin?

After watching BB for so many years I think it is fair to say I know his MO.

So prediction. Blount will run for a short yardage TD on Detroit or at least be given several chances to. BB loves to do those kind of things. His ego demands it.

James White to "IR"?

So who is going to be cut or whatever to make room for Blount?

Ridley needed a pretty great year to possibly come back next year and he got hurt, I don't see the pats offering him anything more then a "come to camp and see if you can make the team" type deal.

Gray looks like a potential starter, and fits the BB mode perfectly(hit the damn hole)
Vereen will probably get offered a short contract to remain a 3rd down back
Blount for a little less then 2 mil, if he plays well the rest of this year i expect him back.
Bolden could end up gone
White will be back in TC.

Am I the only one that has no emotion to the signing?

Does it help the team? Yes, but did we need him? Probably not.
Never get content. Did the Patriots need Corey Dillon in 04 after they won two with Antowain Smith? Gray has had two good games, Payton Hillis got a madden cover and now he's a nobody. Doubt that happens but Blount is great insurance to have.

I think that is technically the cut for Siliga, so still someone else will need to go.

Except I think siliga won't be activated this week. So that gives us time for the next move in case of injury.

Yes, and with Wilfork, Branch, Easley and Chris Jones, Walker wasn't needed

Love me some LaGarette!
Powerful runner with speed and creativity.
Good signing.Glad to see him back.
Wonder if you'll see him on the field with Jonas at the same time for anything.

Gee I wonder how they could do that since they spent right up to the cap with all those bonuses potentially due and blah bla blah blah blah blah blah???

Well, I got this one wrong.

Certainly doesn't hurt - esp not at the contract. Just cut him if he's a jackass. Helps RB overall depth.

Report is Casey Walker

This would be my bet. He hasn't exactly impressed. Gets moved rather easily by a single blocker and Branch getting up to speed makes him the most expendable. Welcome back, LeGarrette. Go smash some DB's.

Who's the starting back if Gray goes down? Bolden? Plsssssssss

Blount will be competing with Gray for carries, not sitting idle waiting for him to go down.

You realize he is being paid less than $300,000 this year right?

Is this a move you can stand @Patradomous? :p

I wasn't a massive proponent of bringing back Blount but at that cost and for insurance, it seems like a no brainer decision. White has shown he isn't ready and Blount knows the system and can be slotted straight in.

BB being BB.

I told you guys all along the Pats would sign Blount! :)

He cleared waivers so they probably didn't want him.

Quite possible or they didn't want him for his contract number. I figured with the need and with Talib in Denver to put in a good word there would be at least some interest.
