People are framing it(both fans and the media)as if we have home field were a lock for the SB and judging the last 5 years in the PS that's nowhere close to being the case

I watched marc Sanchez come in here and shred us at home in the PS.

When it comes down to it, the Patriots are much better off at home than traveling to Denver (Or Indy or KC) to play those teams.

If this team is going to win the AFC, the road is much easier through Foxborough, than through Denver. The road is still not easy, but certainly easier.

agree 100%.....comes through here? They are almost unbeatable...as long as it isn't ravens

Agree withe the Baltimore theory. They've played us tough at home in 3 playoff games winning 2 since 09. I kow there's been turnover, bit they are clearly not intimidated by the razor.

Other than thr 2010 embarassment, we haven't lost at home in the playoffs with Gronk healthy granted it is a small sample size but speaks volumes how much of an impact he is to our beloved team.

Having a first round bye automatically gives you a win when the other 4 teams have to battle it out in the wild card round.

It means that ONE win at home (coming off of a bye week) = a spot in the AFCCG. It's really a no-brainer in terms of greatly increasing our odds of going to the SB.

So does that make Rob the 'biggest' [your unstated adjective-synonym 'delusional'] Homer or just the 'fastest'??

(Rob, I would have said the same thing - Got your back.)

Just the fastest ;)

I rarely, if ever use the term "delusional," since I respect the opinions of others no matter what they feel.

I think (hope) that Rob knows that it wasn't meant as as insult. I am about 75% homer myself.

Personally, I am more afraid of the Chiefs running the table than the Broncos.

I still don't know what is wrong with what I said.

It's obvious that you do not concern yourself with the lowly Denver Broncos, who generally put up 40+ points every single week.

Instead, you are choosing to concern yourself with the likes of the KC Chiefs, who couldn't manage to score offensively until the end of the game at....Buffalo yesterday?

Or how about the likes of the 3-6 STL Rams?

C'mon, man.

EDIT: for what it's worth, I can see the Rams giving the Broncos a tough game for awhile too. I just have a hard time imagining them having the ability to score many points, that's all. The Broncos would really have to shoot themselves in the foot.

Anything is certainly possible.

I don't trust the Broncos in harsh weather environments. I think they lose in KC because of this. Plus in three of four of their road games, they scored 20, 24, and 21 points On offense not 40 plus points. Other than vs. the 0-8 Raiders, their offense has been mortal on the road.

BTW, the Broncos have only scored over 40 points three times this season. One against the Raiders and the other two at home. They only have three home games for the rest of the season.

The Chiefs on the other hand are on a four game winning streak and have all their hard games at home other than the Cards who are now without Palmer. Beating KC in KC is tough for any team.

And the Chiefs are only one game behind the Broncos after 9 game. Let's not act like they Broncos have three or four more wins. The Broncos are 7-2 and the Chiefs are 6-3.

The Rams beat the Seahawks and 49ers and were beating the Cards about 3 1/2 quarters in on Sunday. Why is it such a huge stretch to think they might steal one from the Broncos where the Broncos aren't as good on the road as they are at home and on their third straight road game? Plus Ronnie Hillman is out. So the Broncos may have have even less of a running game than they usually have.

You label me a homer and throw out fake facts and hyperbole to prove it. At least I back up my opinion with facts.

It will be close in the 1st...then game over in the 2nd....blowout that game will be

Not goin out on a limb here and this can go for anyone in playofs but 'IF' Pats can Finally go into Playoffs as healthy as possible ( season ending injuries excluded and C.Jones back) and running on all cylinders, Pats can win in Pluto if it was played there. I still believe that Gronk's absence from last years AFCCG cost us not only missing him but just deflating team. Different story this year with Gronk at Gillette or in Denver. Really like our chances to win it all.

If pats lose to Colts..then yes Colts will be ahead of us and that's not good if we want #1 or even a bye for that matter..they have an easy road other then @cleveland and @dallas

We have by far the hardest schedule out of Denver and colts

My comments were quite respectful to you, and were very light-hearted at worst.

Obviously, you've taken things to a whole new level with your smart ass attitude.

We'll see if the Chiefs "run the table" and/or if DEN stumbles to the Rams and then I'll get back to you--since you "back up your opinion with 'facts.' "

Apparently, you need a dictionary to help define the word "generally," as well....

That's an understatement and a half, particularly with 3 of the next 4 games on the road against top notch competition.

@IND
DET
@Green Bay
@San Diego

After those 4, we get to come back to the division to close out the season against 3 teams that will likely be playing us tough as well--possibly even a couple still in competition for a playoff spot.

.

A SF team that wasn't very good and a Seattle team which isn't that good this year like last year...Plus those were division games and divisional opponents always play each other tough no matter what their records are. Broncos are better then both of those teams this year.

As a pats fan nothing would make me happier to see the rams win...but they have no shot. KC has no shot at winning that division.

We lose 1-2 in that stretch IMO. But can't lose more then 1 for shot at #1 seed. If they are going to lose one...lose GB since NFC team...not Colts.

Yes, I think you hit the underlined right on the head. Divisional foes often play each other tough.

As you point out, as fans we'll be rooting for KC to win the division + STL to beat DEN this weekend, but I'm quite skeptical myself. No offense to anyone's opinion, as we've seen stranger things happen.

Sorry if I was snarky. I guess I am overly sensitive these days.

I never said the Chiefs would run the table. I just think it is more likely than the Broncos. I doubt either will. I just don't t hink the Broncos are the same team on the road than they are at home no matter what they did to the Raiders.

BTW, three out of nine games is more of being occasionally than generally.

I know it's early. But looking at DEN schedule:

So i have them winning their next 3. Next tough game will be KC on the road. Then Chargers will be tough for them as well. I thought the cincy game would be tough..but after watching tonight...they suck and broncos should be able to handle them.

So at worse i have them at 12-4 or 13-3 ( i think 13-3..they should be able to beat all of those teams). So IMO we can only afford 2 more losses if we want the AFC champ game to go though here. I will take our chances with 2 losses. But 1 can't come in the Indy and DET games. If they get past those two games at 2-0. GREAT shape. ( i think they win all 8 at home so i have them beating DET) Again the pats and the way they are playing can run the table...but i just don't see it happening. They will have a bad game here in the coming weeks..just can't have more then two of them

Crazy to look at their scheudle and say those Buff/MIA games...they will be fighting for something at the end unlike previous years. Will make those games a bit tougher but still Ws in my book. Can't think of a tougher scheudle in a long time for this team. They come out of this 13-3 or 12-4 and man they did a GREAT job!

At KC and at SD should still present them with fairly challenging games. Maybe at Cincy as well, who could be fighting for their playoff lives.

Denver is not about to walk into Arrowhead and put up 40+. KC has an amazing defense and They are playing at home which is notoriously hard to win at and it is a divisional game which are always tougher. If Denver were to lose one more game this year it would be this game.

Whew. I can't predict what the Broncos are going to do, but one thing I know for sure is that there's no way the Jets can beat the Steelers...oops....

I have no freakin' idea what the Broncos are going to do. If I had to bet, I'd approach it like Match Play and assume they're gonna metaphorically sink every putt they have to make and, in this case, win out. If they don't, it's gravy.

As for the Pats. It's on to Indy...
