Was yesterdays Offense the beginning of a sleeping Giant? Ever since 2007 i don't think we had an explosive Offense as we witnessed yesterday.

Tommy threw to 10 different players. All of a sudden he doesn't have to look at Gronk all the time, or if u remember when Moss was with us he would throw to him even if he was doubled.

I loved yesterday because i am sure it was the beginning of something special. What a start for Tyms , Lafell was brilliant, Gronk was just Gronk, Edelman was himself cool and assuring. Dobson will contribute more, and Wright will cause Nightmares for a few Def. Cords.

All of a sudden the jigsaw ****le is nearly complete. I had my mouth open in sheer shock and joy to what i saw. The Bombs will come, and who says Tommy can't throw it deep?

The injuries ruined the W... but deep inside i can just hear those Head Coaches who we play soon saying 'damn those Patriots... they look too good, again!'

I am praying for our injured players, especially Mayo; but no time to relax, with a very short week coming up.

GO PATS.

mod edit ... occasional spaces between lines results in no 'wall of text', which makes for easier reading:)

OK OK ,,No love for my bad post,,but bare with me dear friends,,no good with stats but when was the last time our Tommy threw to 10 ,,TEN different Receivers , of which Three were over 90 Yards , and a fourth getting a 45 yard Bomb TD ? Since 2007 i don't remember seeing so many deep throws and this playing away in Buffalo !
Am i wrong in saying i saw something in Sunday's Big Win , i have not seen since the days of Randy Moss ? Its all these Weapons for Brady i am happy with. Cheers to all.

You are not wrong- it's always a good sign when Brady throws to 10 different receivers. Our offense is finally clicking, and hopefully will continue to get better.

It will, since Dobson and wright are catching up to speed and gronk still isn't 100% gronk yet, he is close, but not himself just yet

We very well may have our go-to skill grouping. Gronk, Amendola, LaFell, Wright and Vereen. Still have Tyms to stretch the field and Develin to block. Gonna miss Ridley. Need someone to emerge as a pure-runner.

Need our OL to get healthy to gain some continuity there.

Julian Edelman

I'm hoping we see much more of Tyms and Dobson. Imagine if they start to break out. I'm giving up on Amendola

A lot of people are intrigued by what young guys like Dobson, Tyms, and Wright can bring to the table. I'm really interested in how high of a ceiling Brandon Lafell has. I initially assumed when he signed here he was nothing much more than a JAG who'd backup the likes of Dobson.

Now after what I've seen the few weeks I wonder if he could be putting up close to 1000 yards this year. Could be interesting to see if he has more games like last week.

a breakout game for dobson would be 4-5 catches and a TD. hope tommy throws to him more often.

As Gronk goes, the offense goes. Let's not kid ourselves here. The guy is the single biggest difference maker of all the skill positional players in the NFL.

I miss 100% Gronk because as a football fan, it's a joy to watch him play.

The gronk, besides Tom Brady, is the key point of the New England offense. The guys impact is just amazing.

The NE offense over the past 2 seasons (22 games so far) when Gronk is out or markedly sub-par:

- 1st 6 games of 2014: Gronk absent due to arm injury; Pats average 20.8 PPG (5-1 record)
- Last 4 games of 2014: Gronk with ACL injury against Cleveland, 2 receptions for 32 yards; Pats average 30.5 PPG (3-1 record)
- 1st 4 games of 2014: Gronk still recovering form after ACL injury, with 13 receptions for 147 yards; Pats average 20 PPG (2-2 record)

That's 10-4 over those 14 games, average 23.4 PPG.

The NE offense when Gronk is present at something approaching full-strength:

- Games 7-12 of 2013: Gronk with 38 receptions for 560 yards (6.3 receptions and 93.3 YPG); Pats average 32.8 PPG (5-1 record)
- Games 5-6 of 2014: Gronk with 13 receptions for 194 yards (6.5 receptions and 97 YPG); Pats average 40 PPG (2-0 record)

That's 7-1 over those 8 games, averaging 35 PPG with Gronk averaging 6.4 receptions and 94 YPG.

Get Gronk healthy and involved in the offense and so much opens up.

I mentioned that to a friend this summer. Big, strong, tough kid playing football. Gives 100 percent. Has fun doing it. Gotta love the spike. Nutcracker Dance still cracks me up. Joy to watch

Gronk is truly a game changing player on offense. Without counting QBs, he could be considered a top 3 offensive talent.

The real question is, how do we get a healthy Gronkowski for the playoffs? Gonna be holding my breath for the next 10 weeks as defenders dive at his knees blatantly.

He is either gonna make it or not make it. We are gonna have to wait and see. Hope he makes it

You can't handcuff him to be healthy, because his impact is so much he just wins games. But I attribute his injuries to bad luck.

I'm not one of these "bubble wrap 87" people but I think a conservative approach is something that would be reasonable. Its been 3 years of him not being available and they have paid dearly already. I liked how they used him in the first 4 games. Didn't run him up the seam much but got him the ball by running outs and curls with him.

2011, pollard nuff said.

2012, someone fell on his arm and broke it, then they let him play with a plate, which any force to the arm would break it. The team wasn't smart their.
2013, just a bad hit and luck. I think though Tom many compensate with passes and the team may compensate by not having him take to many risks. But they desperately need the gronk, unless Dobson, Tyms and lafell keep improving. Then we might not need to focus on him as much.

Ya he has had some bad luck. Your last paragraph really makes a ton of sense. Giving Dobson/Tyms more reps would limit the amount of kill shots on Gronk knees. It would also give you a much clearer idea of what those two are capable of. Let them take the hits. If we lose gronk or edelman for the season, points will be that much harder to come by.
