Obviously, stopping the run will go a long way as well.
Let's just hope they don't outthink themselves with these complicated schemes and go back to keeping it more simplified.
Fleming missed practice the entire week due to injury. So who goes into the RG position? Cannon? Devey? Wendell?
Wendell was the only person to play RG other than Fleming last week. It was only for one series. He then moved to LG for two series. Cannon only played T last game.Fleming missed practice the entire week due to injury. So who goes into the RG position? Cannon? Devey? Wendell?
We have all the talent to do that. If the coaching plan is good. We win.
You can rattle Dalton pretty easily.
I thought the thread was to discuss what the pats should do vs cincy. Not like your millionth post about how the pats suck and will be blown out and are a below 500 team etc etc...Cinci doubles Gronkowski and Edelman, mans up anybody else and gets pressure with four...Game over by 2 touchdowns at least. I think the defense will be better (except for Collins - he'll be a liability as usual), but I'm guessing theyll be worn out by the fourth quarter.

Too true. I hope to see plenty of Ridley on Sunday and the rest of the year. From today's Grantland article by Barnwell:
I don’t think Brady will be able to throw on Cincinnati, which is ranked first in pass defense DVOA. That 32nd-ranked run defense, though? A good defensive performance and a run-focused game plan could carry the day for the Patriots.
If they repeat last week's game plan of pass-pass-pass vs a weak run defense, Pats nation will be looking for Josh McD to resign (with just reason this time)
I hope they play less exotically and more aggressively... on both sides of the ball.I think it is time that BB stops holding back and unleashes more exotic looks plus aggressive play. He definitely didnt tip his hand yet when it comes to our defense.
Of course I hope that the OL will take a step forward and give Brady more time.
Thats the recipe..
Its sounds good on paper but people ignore the matchup issues. Bengals can stop the run with 8 in the box and ask the pats to throw the ball to win. Now just because they are 32nd ran run defense doesnt mean pats can run it on every play or will be able to run on it.From today's Grantland article by Bill Barnwell:

Marvin Lewis and winning a big game mixes about as well as **** and strawberry shortcake. This is a big game for both teams. If history holds to form, this is where Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton fall apart.
