Volin says sources have confirmed that Watson has been released--not surprised as there was no way he was going to make the team. Hooman and Williams are hurt at the moment and Jones doesn't look ready for the big time, although he's an intriguing prospect because of his size. It has been reported that Develin has been taking some reps at TE, so that's a wild card but they need to look at some more options at the position.

Houston gone, Finch survives.

Kind of surprised that Jones was cut at this point only because of his size but as Tom Curran said he looked robotic out there. Not surprised about the Houston release as he looked slow and uncertain out there against Washington.

Hartsock seems like a placeholder; there's no way he makes this team. Field Yates is reporting that they've signed Steve Maneri and Terrence Miller as well--don't see them making the squad either.

TE is down to whether BB wants to carry Williams as a TE3 or not.

RB4 is down to Bolden, Finch, or Gray. Finch fumbling twice and not getting cut is interesting.

Finch certainly didn't help himself by not taking care of the ball against Washington, but he has something electric about him that makes him an intriguing prospect. He's quick and makes some great cuts and seems like the type of player who could make some game-changing plays. He's a long shot to make the roster unless he shows some incredible progress in the kick return game, but he's a possible for the PS.

No surprises on the cut list, so far

The only surprise is that there were so few cuts after that debacle

Isn't this Maneri's 2nd time around with the Pats? Didn't they claim him off waivers at one point from Houston and try to convert him to an OT?

I wish Dobson's foot looked good, who cares if he's jacked if he can't run.

Can someone give me the rundown on Easley for this season? Are we expecting him to play at all this year or is the ACL still recovering? I haven't been following his situation too closely this offseason.

He was a tight end in college, converted to OT by the Texans, then moved back to TE full time by the Chiefs. If I recall correctly the Patriots were using him in both positions.

Sept 29 '10 signed to Pats practice squad

Isn't he on PUP because he's just building strength? He should be able to play this year, he tore his ACL before Gronk did.

Easley hasn't practiced yet. Christopher Price has more on Easley in a column today:

Although I said that this is the day many PUPed players come off PUP (the first practice after the first preseason game), I am wondering if the Eagles scrimmage week is going to push back the return of Dobson and Easley another week. You you really don't want your players coming off PUP having their first week of practice as an intersquad scrimmage especially with Dobson's and Carey Williams' history.
