I hope someone is there to rebound. Ok first if a player has more yards and touchdowns in 4 NFL seasons than the player with 6 NFL season he is not statically a better player. You do realize that Amendola has the lowest YPC average of any wide receiver with 100+ career catches in the last 25 year, right. He averages 1.8 touchdowns per season and less than 500 yards per season in his career.

Second Amendola, had 1 target resulting in 1 drop in the most important game of the season, Brady targeted him 12 times in the final 4 games of the season. The chemistry is not that good between the two.

As far as the cost goes, you save minimal money this year to get rid of him and then you pay significantly more in the next 3 seasons for Amendola.

It is not a layup, as I said originally I appreciate your response but you are way off, Amendola is not the player you think he is. You think he can be like Welker, because he can, for 3-4 games a year Amendola can do what Welker did but he cannot do it in 16 games and that is what made Welker great.

Here is a perfect example oftrying to cherry pick specific stats that support an argument. Unfortunately you could not even get the stats right. Your DA hatred is so strong you just make up ****.

1. Where did DA play 6 seasons? You could not even get that right.
2. You are holding one drop on a ball that was hardly thrown perfect against DA in this discussion?
3. Next season has nothing to do with this season. If you want to discuss next season jump in your time machine and go do so.
4. What does WW have to do with this. Who said DA was WW. Talk about a strawman.

5. You are insane

You can do whatever you want but is a weak stance to take. Shoot down ones person’s opinion without putting your own out there for the same scrutiny. Secondly, you have not really done anything to discredit what I said that Amendola is the most at risk out of Edelman, Amendola, and LaFell.

It's not a "weak stance". It's common sense. We have no idea, as of this moment, which veteran is, to use the vernacular here, "most at risk". Based upon cost to cut, it's clearly the new guy, LaFell. Based upon last year in N.E., it's clearly Amendola, but LaFell didn't play in N.E., so that's just a two player battle. Based upon who got the contracts this offseason, it's clearly Amendola. Based upon what we're hearing from reporters, it's clearly not Amendola.

So I ask the question directly – if you had to release one of either Edelman, Amendola, or LaFell who would you release today? You can change your mind in the future but I am talking about right now, you have to make a decision who goes?

You're still not getting this, I see. I reject the question, because I'm trying to be fair to the players involved, and I'm not going to evaluate them when there's nothing to evaluate. Who I would release is not only dependent upon a host of variables that have not been dealt with, it is irrelevant to the question of who is actually the most "at risk" to being cut.

You're repeatedly asking the wrong question to the wrong person:

I'd never have signed Amendola over Welker
I'd have gone after James Jones instead of LaFell
I'd have gone after Andrew Hawkins this offseason
I'd have gone after Jerricho Cotchery this offseason
I wanted Wheaton over Boyce

This is pretty funny:

On Wednesday, one of the biggest surprises in practice was with Jamie Collins. The linebacker, at one point, switched his blue defensive t-shirt for a gray offensive one and lined up with the offense. Brady even through a pass his way.

“I asked if he felt a little smarter when he got in the offensive huddle,” Brady said. “And Vince [Wilfork] heard me and said, ‘Well, he’s definitely not as tough.’”

Just say the player’s name, stop side stepping the question. Amendola, LaFell, or Edelman one has to go, who would it be?

Right now, LaFell, and it wouldn't even be close. We don't even know if he can learn the playbook yet alone get on the same page with Brady. He's shown nothing in OTAs or mini-camp to write home about. He's also the cheapest of the three to cut.

None of that is a knock against the guy, by the way, and I have high hopes for him, but Edelman is the surest lock on the team at WR, of course, and Brady and Amendola were off to a great start last year before Amendola got hurt and Edelman became the binkie, and by every report coming out of Foxboro, Brady and Amendola are right back on that page and Amendola looks like he's got his cutting ability back 100%.

Yep, it'd be a layup, but none of the three are getting cut anyway.

At the end of the day I think Amendola sucks. I am not a fan of him at all in fact, he is actually the only Patriots that I would be happy to see be released. How else can I say it I hate him as a player. That is the whole story, I am not going to change my view. Every time we talk about receivers I'm going to advocate against Amendola and for any of the others. I will never say anything good about him.

So all these months when people would say, "we get it, you hate Amendola," you'd go into the whinery with "no, that's not true..." and other softball deflections insisting that you thought he was a "good" player and were hoping he'd stick around and all this other nonsense.

And Amendola had a higher YPC than either Edelman or Welker last year...big whoop.

Neat. Another Amendola thread. Fan-tastic. Brady6, you need to make peace with the fact that Amendola isn't going anywhere until at least next offseason. If he remains healthy he'll be a weapon. If he doesn't, the team will part with him next offseason. Outside of that, it makes very little sense financially to part ways with him this year. Deal with it and move on. Either that, or make your very own Brady6 Special Amendola Mega-Thread.

You could have saved a lot of time and effort if you had been honest about your feelings toward Amendola at the outset. Seems like when I referred to your jihad against Amendola I was onto something, eh?

Let's just hope Ivan is on vacation, or something.

Things are becoming interesting at wide receiver with Thompkins and Boyce both having great off seasons thus far. Right now, you have to wonder if those two continue to play great, and Dobson returns and plays well, if a player like LaFell or Amendola would be at risk.

No, we don't.

A little news dribbled on on Keyzer Armstead (does he even exist?).

Apparently still suffering from clotting problems related to his heart attack, according to Providence Journal.

How can he even be playing football if he is still at risk???

That's sad. Anyone know anything about this affliction?

If true then he will never end up putting on the uniform. Hope he makes a full recovery. Life is first..football second

If he is having "clotting" problems, one possible scenario is he is on Coumadin and they cannot get his P.T.(prothrombin time) within the desired range. Taking any blood thinner makes bruising a problem. Playing NFL on blood thinners? I doubt an M.D. would ever allow such a thing.

Amendola signed with the Cowboys on 4/27/2008. That was 6 seasons ago. If we not good enough to make a final roster that is not my problem he still entered the league 6 seasons ago.

I am insane, Bruins you call people names on the internet, I mean do you realize just how pathetic that is?

Why do you quote my posts? If you do not like me I do not care just go away, do not talk to me, do not acknowledge me, I am not going to lose any sleep over it.

It looks like the Patriots' gamble on Armstead is not going to pay off. I can't imagine they
would carry him on IR for another year. I hope they have better luck with Easley.

Just an FYI Welker wasnt "good enough" to make the Chargers so...

I would not call it a jihad; I just do not think he is a good football player (by NFL standards). I think signing him was a poor decision much like signing Brandon Lloyd and trading for Greg Salas was. Amendola is on borrowed time; even his fans know that, after 2014 he will be gone. I think most of us have a player we are not that fond of on the team, mine happens to be Amendola. If a discussion breaks out about him I will share my view, if people want to waste their time trying to argue me to change my view I will play along but my opinion will not change overall. I expect that Amendola will play in 12 games or less this season, and have the same production he has had in most of his NFL seasons.

If I was the other posters, I would just expect that when Amendola is mentioned there will be a post speaking negatively of him with the name Brady6 next to it and I would accept that Brady6 does not like Amendola, and not waste my time trying to change his mind.
