Pats draft QB Jimmy Garropolo from Eastern Illinois in the 2nd round

Definitely top 10-12.

Historically has the same QB rating range as Brady in the 95-96 range, with a better than 2/1 TD to INT ratio, and a 65 percent completion percentage.

Romo is definitely not a 'bad' QB, although his decision making comes into question. I agree with you that he gets more crap than he deserves, and makes tons of good plays. I feel bad for the poor dude, playing on such a lousy team/organization.

Yeah, feel like he just saw "FCS" and immediately ruled out the pick. Pats could've drafted Jerry Rice and he would've *****ed about it.

In case you forgot, Connelly sucked last year.

Healthy Amendola? Seriously?

.

Sorry, but that safety group couldn't cover our TEs, and one of our TEs has one leg.

What's your obsession with guys with bad knees?

Watching a precipitous drop off in talent during Brady's golden years will do that to a man.

Sounds like you need to follow a different NFL team, man. You are obviously quite unhappy with Bill Belichick and the NEP.

I'm not going to engage in any further conversation when you keep twisting my words to prove how bad we suck. I pointed out several different scenarios as to how the tandem of Wendell/Connelly should be broken up to improve, and how the combination of the 2 was more of our problem than either player individually, but you keep ignoring that.

You also keep ignoring the fact that the draft isn't even 1/2 over yet, and that we're only in the month of May still.

This is a **** draft thus far. I like that they're looking toward the future but I don't think they could have picked a worse QB if they tried. And I'm sure those that dislike this post will be the guys not exactly known for their college football prowess.

You don't get "luxury" picks when you had your ass handed to you in the playoffs.

No. You just go out and sign the best CB in the league and another CB that is 6'4 that loves to beat up WRs.

Also let's remember here that the Pats got hit with the injury bug last season. Players that missed or were effected by injury in the AFCC

Mayo
Gronk
Wilfork
Kelly
Vollmer
Edelman and Collie were the only healthy WRs
Talib went out in the 1st half

I watch more CFB then NFL. This QB class is awful in general. And anyone who watches CFB knows this. You can't do much worse then who we got.

I believe the Patriots led the league in man-games lost to injury last season.

If that's incorrect, then somebody correct me.

If they didn't lead the league in this dubious category, they were close to it.

I definitely saw us taking a QB due to Mallett leaving at the end of the year (at best), but as pointed out, I felt that any one of the 3 SEC quarterbacks could have been had for better value in the 3rd/4th rounds.

That said, I am simply defending the thought of us needing to address the 2014 "dire" situation by pointing out that most of the starters are already penciled in, and that Belichick and Kraft have always kept a close eye on the future.

I don't know enough about Garoppolo one way or another to make an informed opinion, but I don't really mind the thought of drafting a round earlier if BB liked what he saw. After all, we've drafted a QB high (top 1-3 rounds) of the draft every time we've done it since 2008.

Murray is the only SEC QB I would have taken over Garopplo. But I am a bit biased towards Murray, as he bailed me out of some bad bets..

If you look at the pre-draft ratings on Logan Ryan many scouts were considering him for a Safety conversion, if he couldn't make it as a CB.

According to the scouts, He has good ball skills and lacks top end deep speed but it is much better than most Safeties possess. His coverage abilities rate at CB levels, far superior to most Safeties. The only thing he lacked was experience, and was marginal sized at 6' and about 200 lbs to play SS.

But BB doesn't employ SS. He has Right and Left S that some times have to do both. That was the undoing of Tavon Wilson, He can be the SS, or even the Joker LB/S he was drafted to be, but has trouble when asked to cover deep, as a FS would.

Man this safety class was weak as hell. All the good safeties where gone after round 1.

That was pretty much why I followed as much college ball as I did in the past, JDot---for my betting purposes.

Since I got married a couple of years ago I haven't watched as much NCAA football as in the past. I'm tired of putting money in my acct, then either losing it, or waiting for up to 2 months to get a check.

The only reason I was looking at the 3 SEC QBs was moreso due to value (that I perceived) by being able to take them in the 3rd/4th round. I still wanted someone who was talented and in the top 5-6-7 quarterback range, but I didn't think they'd go higher than the 3rd/4th round myself.

Do you seriously doubt my desire for OL investment after all I have hammered home all pre draft?

Perhaps you need to rub the lamp and implore the Genie to grant you some more wishes. I personally think this secondary is as good as any since Mike Haynes and Ray Claiborne were patrolling back there. It is deeper and more talented than the six who extinguished the Greatest Show on Turf.

Lol, I hear ya. I am not going to lie, I have a huge bias towards the SEC, I am a Pac 12 guy. So my bias really skews my opinion on the QB's available. Frankly, you should not even listen to my opinion on CFB QB's. lol..

Mariota is the best QB eva!!!!!

lol..

I don't college football. Yes I accidentally a word.

But this guy had 5,050 yards and 53 touchdowns in 2013, right? Is that a gaudy number for college ranks? Was he playing against paraplegics and manlets?
