Albert Breer ‏@AlbertBreer 1m With Pats today, my Gronk update: Tests that showed torn ACL/MCL, also showed no dislocation. Expected to have surgery in about 2 weeks ... Gronkowski has to wait for swelling to go down before going under the knife. He's been told he should be ready for start of 2014 season.

Good news, I was wondering when we'd hear a surgery date.

Also, James Andrews is doing the surgery.

In before: "They should just hold Gronk out until week 17 then give him 4 snaps to knock the rust off before the playoffs!"

He should wear braces on both arms and knees next season.

Not a surprise Dr. Andrews is doing the surgery. He is practically on Drew Rosenhaus' payroll.

I alway thought he would be likely be back for the start of the season. Granted anything can happen and the start of the season is not a guarantee. But it should always been the target timeline for his return.

Good news on Gronk but TE is still a 2014 NEED for our Patriots whether he's healthy or not.

CJ Fierdorowicz & Gronk lining up at TE next season please!

Has everyone here seen the picture of Gronk on a scooter out shopping today too?

What, no amputation? What the hell is this?

Does anyone know if he's expected to wear his arm brace for the remainder of his career? My understanding was that the bone never healed properly because of all the infections... any speculative thoughts on this?

It didn't impede him, so I would hope he wears it. Just as a safety net.

Glad to hear it although I am not at all surprised. The knee jerk reactions after injuries like that are the same every time, and rarely warranted.

Surg in 2 weeks? Good, he'll be back in recovery mode real soon and body slamming people by the time the Super Bowl rolls around in February.

Maybe some of the artistic techies could come up with a digital Christmas card we could "sign". Gronk, Mayo Vollmer and Wilfork, at least.

...and send the inmate some glue to sniff and hopefully suffocate.
