Guys, don't blame the refs. We put ourselves in a position to lose. Not converting RZ trips into Tds. That's where we feel gronks loss the most. We can move the ball from 20-10 of the field. What we can't do is make Tds. If we turn 1 of those FG's into A TD, it is a entirely different game.

Mental mistakes cost us. Move on, win the last 2 and head to the playoffs.

I'm actually less worried.

After seeing how the team played yet again on the road...and now they have to go TO Balt where they have i think the 2nd best home record after pats since about 6 years ago..i am very worried.

Ravens D always gives brady problems...and the D can't stop anyone right now

The problem is that SIMS' hands were NOT inside Ryan's shoulder pads. They were OUTSIDE. And yes, grabbing the jersey IS relevant. I really wish people would stop making ***** up about that play. I watched it several times and it didn't change. Sims CLEARLY grabs Ryan's jersey OUTSIDE the shoulder pads and rag-dolls him out of the play. THAT is offensive holding by the receiver. And it is DIFFERENT than what the Pats have done.

Anyone have a screen shot of this? I admittedly do not have a good feed while watching it live, but on the replay I didn't see hands on the outside of the shoulder pads.

I hate to make Andy Johnson roll his eyes, but the drafting a few years ago of Dowling from Virginia--with his history of injuries--when a Stanley Morgan-type WR from Maryland was in the offing is extremely detrimental. Worst draft pick of the Belichick era, as the first player of the second round is often considered by teams as the last player of the first.

How much we could have been using Torrey Smith these last three years!

re: Why didn't the Pats bring in Will Svitek when Solder left with a head injury?

Pretty sure that Svitek went in for one series for Cannon and then was gone for the rest of the game. Think he got hurt.

I'm sick and tired of Brady having to throw to scrubs. I understand that they couldn't foresee the Hernandez situation, but you let Welker and Lloyd walk without any real replacements (everyone seems to forget the 900+ yards lloyd contributed last season...), relying on Amendola, who's injury history was well known. I'm getting sick of seeing Manning and Bree's ALWAYS have a plethora of weapons while Brady continues to get guys off the street and mid-round rookies.

Thanks for the info, man. You certainly pay close attention. If that's true, then it makes much more sense. Anyone wonder if Nick McDonald is still available?

If that were actually true, why has essentially no team been able to get good value for that pick in the last five years? [Off the top of my head, I don't think it's been traded once.]

Edelman has done a fine job replacing Welkers production and Thompkins/Dobson were doing a good job on the outside. The injuries are what's killing them, that and hernandez literally killing someone. They built a team that is capable of winning a Superbowl and lost over 25 million in cap dollars to IR. It's friggin amazing they're 10-4.

Not so much mental mistakes as the fact that we didn't have any receivers who could really win one on one battles. All the receivers we had available to us today were undersized and while that may work in the open field, it's no good in red zone offense. When you get to the red zone, you need receivers who can win the one on one battle.

We had two pretty good shots, one with Amendola and the second with Edelman. They just didn't win their battles- not their fault because the DB's covering them were bigger and stronger.

McDonald is still available. The Pats actually had him in for a workout a few weeks ago and didn't sign him.

?????????

Am I the only one that seen Amendola and Edelman play their ass off today?

You're not the only one. They both did play their asses off. Both had a couple of drops, but otherwise caught everything.

But, the nay-sayers are hammering Amendola because he wasn't perfect.

Yeah its not really the day to be calling out the receivers. The only thing that sucks is they didn't have a guy who can go up and fight for the ball today, again because of injuries. I don't think I've ever seen a team with this many key players injured.

Reportedly a team wanted to trade with us, so we trade down and colllect picks--and likely still have the opportunity for the player.

Brady's wife is probably saying the same thing...just more colorfully, Satchboogie13.

Keenan Allen and Cordarelle Patterson agree with you. Dobson get the eff back on the field, we passed on some good WRs for you.

My thoughts are, Edelman and amendola need someone to stretch the field with them. Boyce isn't that guy IMO. We need Dobson and KT out there. Edelman is a beast, so is amendola.

The 2 issues on offense are the oline not showing up a critical times, and a big RZ target. Today we really needed Dobson or KT to go up and get the ball in the RZ.

Defense: they need to just get healthier. The secondary is very good when it is healthy. So it would be critical if we can secure a #2 seed.

I still believe that this team can get hot in the playoffs.

I have to disagree. Boyce CAN stretch the field. In fact, he's faster than Dobson or Thompkins. He's quicker as well. The issue is more the O-line getting Brady time AND the OC calling more running plays so that it keeps the defense honest.

I remember ten or twelve years ago our TE Christian something was tall, had a basketball background. He's a TV analyst now. Can't remember his name. But I remember Belichick remarking on his ability to "post-up" like in basketball in the endzone when we were down there. Obviously, that need potentially is met in Dobson.

But we don't have that player right now. If we did, the game likely would have turned in our favor.

So amendola and Edelman having 250 receiving yards isn't bad. The thing we missed was a big wr in the end zone. If we have Dobson or KT, they can get the ball in the EZ. The defense just completely collapsed on both drives at the end.

I thought Boyce was very good today as well.

I don't think the team intended to have Brady throw to as you call them scrubs. They invested $90m in the tight end position, signed Amendola for $30m and, invested a 2nd and 4th round pick in 2013s draft into players for him to throw the ball to. Murders and injuries have caused the predicament we're in.
