i wish that PI never happened. i had no doubt in my mind brady would give us 7.
just tainted a great comeback.

Those were some nontrivial catches by Edelman, as Brady's passes came in high, hard, and in one case wobbly.

In particular, they weren't any easier to catch than a certain pass Welker famously dropped ...

One thing I noticed was T.J. Ward launching himself at Edelman after a catch @ 1:08.

He was launching himself all game long.

On the Blount catch & run he went at his knees and a few times earlier in the game he was flying over the top of players head hunting, thankfully he missed those ones!

After looking back at the play it was a correctly called penalty according to the rules. With that being said, some who claim to disagree with the call actually just disagree with the rule itself, many people have voiced disagreement with the Tuck rule, which is fine, but I don’t understand when people disagree with the correct application of a rule.

It tainted nothing. The PI was correctly called according to the rules. We have the weirdest fanbase in the NFL. I think some of our own fans are crying about that call even more than the Cleveland fans. LOL.

If that call had been offensive PI instead, your 'conscience' would be clear, but we would have lost. I'll take the properly made call, even if arguments could be made about the 'severity' of the interference, it was still pass interference according to the rules.

Actions that constitute defensive pass interference include but are not limited to:

(a) Contact by a defender who is not playing the ball and such contact restricts the receiver’s opportunity to make the catch.

I've said the same many times but it falls on uncomprehending ears.
There's a distinction between the debating efficacy of the rule itself and the judgement of the interpretation of it. Two separate issues.

It's nice to see Edelman has learned when it makes sense to try to catch and run, fight for yards, or just give himself up. I can't help but think that Edelman of old would have tried to "make something happen" despite being turned around and having no clue what he's running into.

I imagine it's one of the hardest parts of learning the wide receiver position, coming from QB where your hits are far more predictable. Hopefully this means he can be more reliably on the field from here on out.
