Not just because the Pats have these four picks today, either, although that sure helps from my perspective.
It seems like the much more intriguing part of this draft is the second round, and it has seemed that way for awhile. The first round carried very little drama and mostly a bunch of beefy offensive linemen going off the board. Round 2 should have all of the skill players, who, let's face it, are more exciting to speculate about.
It almost seemed like teams were making their round 1 picks in resignation that they needed to pick someone and those picks were pretty obvious. I get the sense that most of the scouting was done in the mid-rounds here.
It's almost like Round 2 is what Round 1 was supposed to be. You still have 3-4 potential franchise quarterbacks and a lot of teams with interest. You haven't even seen the first RB go off the board yet. There are tons of playmakers ready to be plucked.
