Edelman is a Pretty Good Football Player

I like his play. Reminds me a bit of Meriweather though on the way he taunts the other team's players sometimes and that's the only bad thing I have to say about him.

The difference to me is that Meriweather would taunt players when he would make a big hit after they just gained 20 yards for a first down. Edelman just gets fired up about making big plays that help the team.

Pretty sure everybody(myself included) wanted Edelman canned after that fumble.

Funny how things turn around.

I think he's got a chance at being a really good WR, but is held back (rightly so) with all the playing time going to Welker, Gronk, and Hernandez right now.

He's held back at WR by his habit of tipping balls up in the air to be intercepted. I like Edelman, but that is a fatal flaw of a receiver who will play a lot underneath. I've been saying that he has the skillset to be a good slot corner since long before BB put him there.

Belichick will probably use Edelman as scout team QB for the Denver game. Maybe he will run some of Tebow's option plays so well that Belichick tries a few of them in our remaining games.

Very impressed with his defensive play
on 3rd and 1 on out 3 yd line he chips two recvrs 1 at the line the other about a yd deep then comes up to make the tackle on an elusive QB for the stop!! not many that could make that play...
that said I wouldn't put him in the HALL yet

The most impressive part is the proper tackling technique he demonstrated, and he's only been playing D for a month as opposed to the rest of the secondary corp who allegedly have been playing D all their lives.

He makes the tackle and doesn't go looking for the big hit!

Great player, the perfect Patriot, plays all 3 phases of the game!

What's cool is that Big Love 74 trailing the play woulda made the tackle too once the QB finished his EZ celebration

Anyone notice that on the Young tackle - - he actually made THREE plays in one?

1) At the snap - - he puts a VERY hard jam on TE Celek

2) He slips over to take blanket cover D. Jackson - - who can't shake him after FOUR direction changes!!!! (see upper right side in the replay from 0:20-0:24)

3) Only then (when he sees V. Young scrambling over the LOS) does he release D-Jack to take on Young and make a superb open field tackle.

Just incredible.

...and the lick he gives Young on a blitz at the end of the clip, on 3rd/10 to force a punt,
was T-E-X-T-B-O-O-k.

He's already a better DB than Sergio, and just might be our best option at FS
(until next year's draft/FA period, I hope).

I also hope that his off-field issues are quickly resolved in our favor.

More importantly, I hope they are resolved in his favor, although I understand your meaning. If he did what he's been accused of, it's an enormous mistake. There's always the chance he didn't, but I'd guess that chance is slim. At any rate, he's a single guy who was out drinking at a Halloween party and likely/possibly did something he'd take back in an instant. He doesn't strike me as any sort of serial offender, so I'm guessing it gets settled either in or out of court by or before January 10. I'd be surprised if he's a repeat offender with this type of stuff, but I've been surprised before. Bottom line, I think he's a very valuable and talented player who will never be a super star, but could be the kind of guy who sticks around and contributes for a long time.

FWIW one of my old girlfriends knew Edelman at Kent State. She said he was a extremely ****y and always feeling up girls because he got away with it. I think he'll be fine, but he probably did what he was accused of.

Agreed. I'm the last person in the world who should be judgemental about people for youthful indiscretions, but we all need to learn our lessons and not repeat mistakes.
