As for the good feelings between the teams, Jason Taylor and Tom Brady are reportedly pals. On the sack by Taylor of Brady, they were talking to each other while on the ground, with Tom smiling. I think I saw them clink helmets together after they got up and before Taylor returned to the Miami defensive huddle. Did anybody else see that?

Yes, definitely. Taylor is liked and admired by all the Pats, it seems. He's obviously a good guy as well as a great player. I thought I saw him and Brady together at the end of the game, but I might be wrong -- I was only watching on TV.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Maybe he just thought Crowder played a good game??

or did you brain surgeons not think of that one?

hahaha:singing:

We definitely looked at Crowder, but did we back off?

I was one of those who thought that, with Bruschi out and Phifer not re-signed (we didn't yet know about Ted Johnson) an inside linebacker was a big priority, well worth a first round for a starter.

I now know (1) BB does NOT draft for need (2) he doesn't have an aversion to taking linebackers early. So I have no good answer except that they must really have liked Mankins and were convinced that they wouldn't get him later. No knock on Mankins, but it still seems strange to me.

Yes, others noticed.
And, yes, they are friends.

Making someone you accidentally bump into
feel as though you had been beelining for them
is a social skill that can pay real dividends.
Especially if you remember their name
and address them by it.

[it was only an accident that he bumped into Brady from Matt Light's point of view]

[actually, if you've hit them hard enough, reminding them of their name is a very helpful courtesy]

 .........

I read somewhere that he's friends with Channing Crowder's father, who I beleive also played in the NFL.

I think Crowder's a good player, but I'd take Mankins over him any day of the week.

Being absent for a few days:

For anyone to be accused of looking too far into things should be be a non-topic. As far as I can tell, 90% of this site is regurgitation of BS heard elsewhere or just plain conjecture based on knee-jerk reactions.

As to the person who stated that it is ridiculous to think that Belichick may be scouting talent that is young and good, but not yet available and under contract to another team: 1) How finite is an NFL contract? 2) How many prospects have the Belichick-era Pats proferred at the LB position? 2a) How many have they attempted? 2b) How many have they re-habbed from poor fits?

Good God, folks. I sit here and read ridiculous sh!t everyday, by supposed respectable posters. Yet, they write crap that wouldn't fly by the paid commentators they lambast. I write something they don't notice, but somehow remember when it's brought up, and they say it's foolish.

Think day-to-day and tomorrow is tomorrow. Same thing. Foresee tomorrow, and its old news when it happens.

What I want to know is, why was Daniel Graham looking to his right at 2:42 EST? I actually saw this. The camera was right on him. And I saw him glance to his right. Did anyone else catch this??

He shouldn't do that.
