NFL -- The Patriots have a need at tight end, but some of the top prospects in the NFL draft come with risks. - ESPN Boston

Maybe Reiss has a point here,we all know BB does not like to take too many chances on risky prospects who missed a whole season to injury.

Brandon Tate says Ouch.

Maybe he makes a move to grab a vet TE and passes on one in the draft or takes a lower talented one for blocking purposes and hopes to make him useful in this year's offense like Byham,Boone or Shuler?.

I pray to my Lord & Master Satan (and I don't mean Miroslav) that Bill doesn't draft either Gresham or Gronk. I would rather that he wait until his 6th & 7th-round picks before deciding on a TE, and that he give very serious consideration to UNH's Scott Sicko.

I don't know if I want a guy in a Patriots uniform with the name SICKO on the back

I bet that kid has been ridiculed his whole life....I would rather have GAY on the back of my jersey like Randall has

Old friend Kirk Ferenz of Iowa has a TE projected in the 4th who can block and catch. Moeaki. We can trade down for him along with WR's Roberts and/or White. I can't see the value in drafting guys who haven't played in a year in the first and second. I'll take a couple of slightly less talented, durable, potential overachievers at the skill positions, thanks. Draft me humble, driven football players with something to prove, Bill!!!

I really like White as a possession receiver. He is extremely adept at getting open and he has the hands to succeed in the NFL. He could be a bette blocker, but overall, the ability to get open is huge.

I agree. If BB takes a TE with one of his first 4 picks I think I'll throw a brick thru my TV. :bricks:

Protect Brady and get him some real weapons. A WR and a RB. Nobody respects the current Pats running game. Matthews would be a nice catch. Let one of the old timers go ( Morris/Taylor) The defense needs to have an outside PR and a solid interior for the opposition's running game.

Plenty of holes to fill. Draft can't come soon enough :singing:

I'm with you there. But then, I thought for sure that BB would snatch up Austin Collie last season. Maybe BB has trust issues with guys who don't drink coffee?

Wait. Actually, I can sorta see that. ;)

I wouldn't trust me either, but that's for another discussion.

BB drafted Thomas and Mills, he had to have some vision of how he wanted to use them. Both were essentially lost due to injury. I look at Pitta and see quickness and enough long speed, size, route running, great hands, all the tools to try that experiment again, but he also has the frame to build a prototypical NE TE. He blocks pretty well for a BYU product, and he can easily carry another 10-15 lbs to help him in trench battles. I think a strong receiving TE will be an essential tool for stressing defense like the Jesters, their LBs will need Safety help which takes away some of that over the top coverage shadowing Moss. Double-team Welker and or Moss and a Pitta eats you for lunch.

The hell w/ that. If he acts like his name, he will be eating up safeties & corners. Maybe even LB's. :rocker:

What if Randall Gay's sister married Scott Sicko's brother, and they gave their child both last names? I wouldn't want to be the kid with "Gay-Sicko" on the back of his jersey.

I take it you've been through that experience?

I think you'll probably be hearing them in Indy. But I do agree.

I like Moeaki a ton, but durable he ain't.

Hey now...I resemble that remark.

Not that there's anything wrong with it, I'm just sayin'.
