Joey Porter: Tom Brady has his own rules

I'm getting pretty tired of this. Quarterbacks, wide receivers, hell all NFL players, ask for flags every game. I saw God himself, Peyton do it in almost every game I've watched of the Colts this season. I saw Eli beg for a flag and then pump his fist after he got it because of a late hit out of bounds vs. the Eagles this past weekend. But it's all Brady I guess.

Someone get Joey Porter some floss. Mr. Ed is all gum. Maybe if his teeth grew in a little bit, his mouth might shut. Even if it didn't, we should shut it for him this Sunday.

It's amazing how much they hype things the Pats do to portray them as the bad guys. It's becoming WWE-esque, almost to the point where I wonder if they tell players to say things. Watch ANY NFL game and you see multiple players make the damn throw the flag signal, but for whatever reason only Brady is singled out. For YEARS there has been spying in the NFL, it's been documented, but for whatever reason only the Pats are mentioned. The Dolphins can tape Bradys audibles, the Jets can video tape the Pats, the Steelers doctor can get a dump truck full of steroids delivered to his house, no one says a damn thing. It's just stupid at this point.

Porter should quit talking, he hasn't done squat this season. JT on the other hand.. can't wait to see him feast on Brady just like old times sake :)

I actually love reading the comments to items like this. I just wish they came with verified names and addresses. That would make it much easier to know which people are stupid enough to completely ignore when it comes to football.

Wide receivers call for flags on seemingly every route they run, claiming holding, illegal contact or pass interference. Defensive linemen cry for holding calls and point to O-linemen at every perceived flinch, begging for false start calls. The notion that Brady calling for a flag and getting it is proof that he has his own rules is a great example of why some some people are able to be ignored without the world being any worse off for it.

Some of them are just too blind/stupid to notice it from other guys. However, the majority of people are so completely blinded with hate for our Pats that they take anything that one of our players does and spin it negatively. Not sure why. I guess it comes with the territory, despite the fact that we haven't technically been the "top dogs" in over a year.

What is friggin hilarious is that on the play they refer to this year, the Suggs play, the referee was already throwing the flag on Suggs as Brady turned around and pumped his fist. So, this idea that Brady was "calling for the flag" is pure fiction on the part of the mediots and haters..

I posted this in another thread that was about Joey getting his spygate panties in a bunch again, but it seems to fit here, too. Plus, it's AWESOME! :D

Bruschi in today's ESPN chat:
hi tedy, whats your take on joey porter recent comments on his deep rooted hate for the patriots

Tedy Bruschi

I'd hate us too if I were on a team that was beat twice in the AFC championship game.

Gotta love the Bru! :singing:

I love Bruschi too, but he shouldn't be saying stuff like that. He's a member of the media now. A simple change of words would have done the trick. For example: "I would hate THEM too if I were on a team that lost the AFC Championship".

I noticed the "us", too, and I pretty much agree with you. But it's a minor slip on ESPN chat, not TV...and he's Tedy, so I'm willing to give him a pass. ;) I think he usually does a great job being impartial, and I like that he is.

And the important thing is, Joey Porter needed to be told to SUCK IT! :D

That's exactly my problem with it. Look, the Patriots were caught, and deserved to be punished, but it's as if every other team is a ******* little angel, halo and all.

It's like anything the Patriots do, they're the worst human beings on Earth. If the Colts beat the Titans 59-0, you would have never heard a peep about it. But since the Patriots did it, they ran up the score and showed a lack of class and sportsmanship.

Apparently Rich Eisen is now part of the vast Boston Media wing conspiracy (see the other thread) to trick Porter in to saying something stupid. I feel bad for the guy. He is so humble and reserved and Boston media like the NFL Network are tricking him into saying things out of character.

Bruschi was on the team that beat the Steelers. There's no reason for him to go with anything besides "us".

Well of course. We wouldnt be the cheatriots for nothing. That is a media designed promo that they will continue to plug every season since spygate and will work it at every opportunity it gets.

He's no longer on the team as of right now though. People can say what they want about Schlereth, but I've never heard him refer to the current Broncos as "us". The media is SUPPOSED to be unbiased (they fail most of the time). Saying "them" would have been a little bit better in that situation. Just my opinion.

Bruschi is a commentator, not a reporter. Also, the "cheating" teams are being called out, and Bruschi was a member of them. If this were 2010 and he was saying "us" about the current, 2009, team, there might be an argument. For this, though, I really don't see one.

Brady has his own teeth too, Joey. What's it to ya?

Ho...wait a minute...the Patriots were NOT, I repeat,NOT "caught"...Belichick IGNORED the rule and with enough reason to mollify any NORMAL league ruling body. For Chrissakes, Mangini had TWO cameras going and LIED about it before he RATTED to Goodell and started the whole fairy tale "spygate".It was and IS, as anyone can see by the explosion of Yankee fan vitriol post series directed at the NE area, a manufactured straw man emanating from a NY born and bred "omissioner" that has not seen an end precisely because this jagoff has kept it alive in the media. Name once that Goodell has said "enough!" about all these continued spurious allegations constantly, YEARS LATER, being strewn around with impunity by absolute proven morons like Porter. Name one....

The Saddest part is, I pretty much agree with him.
