Read Reiss up and downs, he says he short armed a pass and was getting frustrated.. Just hope he pulls together, Cassel needs him

See my comments in the ChristopherPrice bit earlier about Randy's post game comments, but the short version, yes. I hate Gators with a passion, it has no place in professional football when you get paid to catch passes.

If he is not going 100% Belichick needs to sit his crybaby *****.

Its not good for the rest of the team if they can see him quitting on the team. No one likes the fact that Brady got hurt but they all have to suck it up and give 100%.

Total horse crap. I was at the game, and as the area around the ball was disappointing, I decided to just watch moss the whole game. He was open almost every play, and ran his ass off the entire game.
I think I know the exact play he is accusing him of "short arming". It was a sideline throw, and at first I thought the same thing, but you could tell that the pass could only have been caught by jumping up and out of bounds, and whats the point of that.
Total bull****. Moss worked his ass off the whole game.

he doesn't do well on losing teams. and after today we are headed for our losing season since brady took over bledsoe. at best we can expect moss to come back next year in anticipation of brady's return. if brady weren't coming back moss would be a goner

I can believe that. The problem isn't Moss. It's Cassel.

I think the highlight now, is how John Tommase got put in his place by Moss at the press conf.. I just listened to it and it was classic.. :D

Uh, apparently you weren't watching him the whole game or you would 100% know what play we were talking about. Perhaps this will jog your memory: YouTube - Randy Moss short arms and quits on pass

That's called alligator arms.

You are mixing up plays. The short arm pass was not going out of bounds. It was on a route he cut in and was a good 5 yards away from the sidelines. I don't know how you could say the only way he could have caught the ball was to jump out of bound when the play was nowhere near the sidelines. See the play below.

That video shows nothing. Cant tell how far in front of him the ball is. You show me that angle and I might feel different.

Just because we lost badly doesnt give just reason to hang randy. You see what you want to see, because you need someone to put some blame on.

I am personally concerned. They showed a package of three or four plays vs. the Jets where it looked pretty clear that Moss wasn't selling his routes and practically jogging to walking on plays. The short arm was inexcusable especially when you look at the replay and he clearly pulls his arm back than try to catch the balll.

They can make it look on TV anything is happening when you focus in on a handful of plays so it could be deceiving, but it does really look like Moss is mailing it in at least on some plays. That is not what we are looking for from a player especially a team captain.

I was really expecting a lot more out of the guy after Brady went down. So far, he is my biggest disapointment because he seems to be falling into some of his old habbits that got him to fall out of favor in Minnesotta and Oakland.

They showed it from another angle, he didn't even have to lay out, he gatored the ball plain and simple, it was easy, in stride, no extension or anything, just don't go all T-rex and it's 1st and 10. There is no wiggle room here, he short armed a 1st down to avoid getting hit by the safety. The youtube maybe leave you visually questioning, but I saw it in HD, still have it on the recorder, he short armed the ball and there was no way around it. If you read my comments in another thread, I'm not blaming him for the loss, I'd be disappointed in that if we won too; alligator arms have no place in a professional football game, especially if you get paid $9m/year. This was a team loss, no doubt, but that play made me want to smack him. Just like there were about 20 plays I wanted to smack Kaczur and Yates. But we weren't talking about them, we were talking about Randy doing what he did.

I can't tell either if he was pulling arms in to avoid to catch the ball because he was afraid of getting hurt or that he didn't want to get an neccessary hit in a losing effort. I do agree it is impossible to know why he short armed the pass from that angle.

I thought we were supposed to worry when the QB was "locked on" to Moss.
Now it seems like being not "locked on" is bad.
And is bad good ? or is it bad ?
Very confusing.

no.
............

This has nothing to do with Brady, well maybe it does because Moss would never quit on Brady.

I've been worried about him since last week when I saw the look of frustration in his eyes. I posted about it here and people jumped down my throat. They say last season proved he is a team player, fits into BB's system. How can you judge that when he was putting up the numbers he did? This season we will find out if Moss has really changed. I think people here don't realize what a jerk he was when on losing teams.

Note I am agnostic. Let his behavior speak for the rest of the season.

A younger Moss would have faught for that ball over the middle. The older Moss, probably smartly, doesn't want to risk getting knocked out for the season. He would have been slammed by two bearing in from the secondary.

Moss was going to get cranked if he caught that ball. Cassel threw the ball to a bad spot.

Every other WR on the team catches that ball, takes the hit, and gets us a 1st down. He gets paid to catch the football and get tackled. Cassel didn't lay him out, didn't expose his ribs, and didn't do anything but throw a slant where it was meant to be thrown - on the hands just outside the breadbox.
