Yes indeed you need to take that into account big time. Maroney would tear up a bunch of scrubs with half decent blocking.Take a look at how Maroney ran last game and how Jordan ran. I know you need to take effect the players 1st vs 3rd stringers, but you'll see when Jordan gets the ball he shoots straight up to the LOS. Maroney will do one or two hops and pick the biggest hole. That's really the difference between a back who has mostly 1/2 yard carries with the occasional homerun. Whereas Jordan will gain 3,4 yards more consistently (great for killing the clock) rarely breaking one greater then 20 yards. They really complement each other well, alot like Dillion/Maroney did. Morris is kind of the odd man out has he has not played up to his level of last year.

Can you prove that Maroney has mostly 1/2 yard carries? He had a good average YPC last year, so could you prove that his average was thrown off by "homeruns" and not that he was consistent?
I'm just saying if this is true about Maroney we should see it somewhere in the numbers. Sorry if I don't believe many of the posters' "eyes".
Here are his splits from last season. Decide for yourself.....

Getting hit in the backfield a millisecond after a hand-off is not 'dancing'.
Well this is just confusing me now. Maroney had 2 runs of 20+ yards last year, both against Miami. One for 51 and one for 59. If you take those away from him, he has a 3.96 YPC average with 0 20+ yard runs. Consistency? nahhh
Hmmmm, eyes cannot lie though... only statistics lie. Someone has to crack this case!!
Maroney looked the worst of all the backs in the Giants game and that includes Green-Ellis. He still does that little slide step to the side that stops his momentum. The other backs make cuts into the hole but they don't lose speed and momentum, he always ends up practically stationary. I am down on him. I say trade him and Chad Jackson for a football player and lets get on with it.
I swear, some of this stuff is being put out there to get a reaction. Did he have that "little slide step" in the AFC divisional playoff game or the AFC championship game or in the SB when he plowed in for a TD? For chrissakes, can someone stop this BS???Maroney looked the worst of all the backs in the Giants game and that includes Green-Ellis. I don't care what anyone says.... I love Maroney's dancing. Yes I do wish he would be more consistant in his playing but damn when he's on.... yeah I dance right along with him.
He's so good - I heard he is replacing Warren Sapp on Dancing wih the Stars.
