Isn't that mostly because another NFL team plays there?

I think your sig is fine (if a bit garish). I've seen worse from trolls. What I found funny is the "playoff appearances" category at the bottom.

No it is not. The Jets hang their stuff up on the plastic wall covering thing. The Giants played at GIANTS Stadium since 1976... The Jets moved in in 1984.

Alright, fair enough. I wasn't aware of that (I've never been there) so thanks for the correction.

no, not bad...but certainly being overrated by the media..especially NY media. They aren't going to know what hit them Sunday.

You hope, because you know for sure. It is in the future... I can't predict. But since you can what is tonights lottery number?

Earlier in this thread someone stated the Giants would likely not have beaten the Jaguars or Chargers.

Translation: They do not believe the Giants have a chance in hell against the Patriots.
Pretty accurate assessment. Both sentences.

Giants are lucky to be here. Amazing that they are, and kudos to them for getting here, and to Coughlin for playing hard week 17 (man, was I ever wrong about that!), but they are still squeaked out wins the last two weeks and are lucky to be here.

Will this make you happy?

I, a Patriots fan, acknowledge that the Giants have a chance to win. I personally don't think it's a great chance, but I'm not going to be so arrogant or stupid to say it's impossible. Nothing's impossible.

If the Giants win this year... it will be on the season tickets. It will be mentioned at the first home game and no banner will be hung. It will be all about next year.
also...
No rally's are given before they leave to the Super Bowl where a QB predicts he will bring home the trophy (Oh wait that was the Patriots/Who would believe that could happen... they said they'll win... imagine a pro team thinks they can beat an opponent). I have nothing against predictions. A parade would happen, but NY would never allow the plans to get out like Boston.

Spoken like someone who doesn't realize the effort it takes to win a NFL game. This is not Pop Warned. They are not lucky... Preperation, hard work, and talent is the readon they're in Super Bowl 42.

You seem to be a reasonable and intelligent person. I'm glad to have Giants fans around who are willing to discuss the game rationally. Please don't say stuff like "but NY would never allow the plans to get out like Boston." It just makes you sound like a catty troll, when I think I understand that you're here to talk some actual football.

Then the Einstein of a Mayor comes along and upsets everything with his announcement that the Boston Victory Parade is all set.

This has been discussed ad nauseum. There are 10 different threads on it. Let me say it clearly.. Every city plans victory parades in advance. They have no other choice, there are too many factors which go into it. MA (and also NY) are also voting that day, complicating it further. This is the non story of all non stories.

Could you predict who would win in the Giants played a third grade girls team? See, you can predict. The Giants would win every game if they played a thousand times. It isn't like the lottery.

That's why you think the Giants have a chance. You don't know the difference between random events and analysis of strengths and weaknesses of teams..

If winning the game was random like the lottery, sure the Giants would have an equal chance. But it isn't like the lottery, and the Giants have about as much chance against the Pats as you little girls did against the Giants. This game, alas, you are the little girls. Except that little girls are so stupid as to think they could win 23-17.

You need to hope for lucky breaks and funny bouncecs of the ball, because if each team plays to its ability, the Giants will lose. Because they simply are not as good as the Patriots.

ps I still think your sig is funny. It is so big but if you take away everything that happened before the merger, before the NFL as we know it existed, you have done squat. It would be like giving your girlfriend a pair of glasses that makes things look bigger. Like she couldn't tell you were hiding how tiny your "accomplishments" were.

That's just idiotic. If you really think that, I feel bad for you. The Giants are an NFL team which earned their way here, and deserve to be playing in the game. Even if they don't have a great chance, to say they have no chance IS disrespectful.

You didn't do any more "analysis" of our team than he did of his. If you really think the Patriots would beat the Giants 1000 times out of 1000, I don't know what to say.

Spoken like a guy who didn't watch the last game the Giants played. Preparation, hard work and talent had nothing to do with Lord Favre hand the game over in OT with a pass even you and I would know better than to throw.

All teams prepare and work hard. Even those third grade girls. It isn't enough when going up against a team with more talent that plays better as a team and prepares harder. Although your team certainly does talk a better game. I'll give you that. If they spent a little more time preparing and less time flapping their gums, they might have ... no, sorry. They'd still have no chance.

Better luck next year. If you are smart you will cut Shockey and maybe make the playoffs again.

I'm with spacecrime on this one. The Patriots are a Super Bowl team. The Giants are a pretty good team that just happens to be in the Super Bowl. Of course, no Patriot player would say that even if they thought it :D

The NFL Champions Giants played college teams then and defeated them look it up. My signature is one of pride for all the great Giants teams. No one is hanging on to the past. The Giants don't even have one banner or retired number displayed in the stadium. I have it in my signature because I enjoy all aspects of the Giants past and present. If it makes you feel better to be rude... enjoy it. I was trying to be pleasant and have a discussion.

Pride of what? Again, u look it up, the BEST College team defeated the NFL chump in those days. Only exception was Pottsville PA Maroons in 193o something taking on Notre Dame & beating them by 2 points! The NFL was a joke for a long time in the 20's and 30's (even the 40's are iffy) - years of no attendance / no coverage ... a $500 franchise fee is all u needed to be an NFL team with any joe shmoe playing for them. At least bck in 1918 , baseball had a true World Series drawing the same amount fans nationwide as is today. Football wasn't even relevant until 1966 when the 2 football leagues finally decided to have a game on who is the best.
And no banners for the Gmen because it is not even your own stadium - you share it with another team! Don't they share everything at that stadium with the Jets? That's pathetic..

I have no problem with your discussions on the points of the SB game and they come across very sound and logical but claiming '18 world championship games played' is looking like a retahd who claims he has beaten his retahded friends everyday in jump rope at school recess!

Wow. You don't have Watson's IQ. Your IQ is Watson's Wonderlic score.

The Giants are an NFL team which earned their way here, and deserve to be playing in the game.
Hooray for the Giants. Plucky little devils. Their famous DE Strahan holds the world sack record when Favre laid down for him, and they lucked into the Superbowl when Favre tossed them a gift INT in OT.

But they cannot beat the Pats unless they get even luckier than they already have been.

Sure they have a chance. A CHANCE. Chance being luck. A lot of luck. I'll say it again so that you can feel bad for me again:

That's why I'm a Patriots fan, not a player. I get to say it when I think it. Well, maybe there are other reasons I'm not a Patriots player: old, slow, flabby, etc.

Hey, we'll find out Sunday if the Giants belong. If they lose by one score or less, I'll give them props. If they lose by two or more scores, I'll expect the guy with the long sig to say that today's Giants just aren't as good as that 1888 or whenever team he is so proud of.

The guys on FSNE are right. We're 18-0 but the team that loves to be disrespected is right back where they want to be.

- The Giants' black suits for the funeral.
- Burress' "prediction"; did you see the look on Brady's face about scoring only 17 ?
- The media saying the Giants have momentum.
- The media saying Eli has been the best QB in the playoffs this year.

We couldn't have asked for a better week. The Disrespect Card is back for real. Harrison will walk off the field saying "We were 18-0 but no-one thought we could do it".

I don't get the whole momentum stuff. How can you have more "momentum" than a team who is currently 18-0?

Pretty much agree with Space on this: Gmen no more talented than Dallas / GB & especially not the PATS. Packers dumb Offensive strategy (pass & pass again) & Favre just throwing it right at defenders practically gave them the game to them - If Tynes misses FGs like that against the PATS & gives it back to Brady to win it, what do u think will happen?!? Please!
Again, I'll give the Gmen credit winning close games in tuff territory (Lambeau) but Pats will prepare just as hard / play hard or harder & will outtalent the gmen in the end. Good luck next year..
