Steelers Anthony Smith guarantees victory

I really don't think he cared about the spygate stuff to be honest. He was asked and said they were calling out "our stuff." For the Pats to be calling out the Steelers plays, that's a little odd. However, he dismissed it and has never brought it up himself.

Yes, he cried because they wanted to send the Bus out on top. That was a helluva season (15-1). FB is emotional. If they're allowed to hit and scream like animals, then on the other end they all should be allowed to bow and cry. Brett Favre did and he was never judged for it.

Don't take this the wrong way. I'm just giving my views.

If he didn't care, he should have said nothing, just my opinion. Funny you compare him to Favre, I HATE him. Like no other player ever. HATE HATE HATE him.
I was actually slightly happy when the Bus did go out on top. He should have stayed out, now I can't stand him on his show.

WHO??? said what??? Does it matter??

From the game planning to the game, BB material ranks somewhere between non-factor and extremely unimportant (some players think it pumps them up, but..).

That said, Anthony Smith should not have said anything. Joe Namath? Okay. Smith? No.

Yeahhhh once you get past Moss and Welker, it's just Stallworth, Gaffney, and Ben Watson. And maybe Maroney out of the backfield.

Well, take heart - the whole book on the Pats now is to just blitz every play, and unless Brady gets great protection, it looks like you'll just get burned underneath and on short routes for 10-20 yarders. Well, except the Maroney passes.

Honestly, this game looms for me, given the Ravens' and Eagles' performances. I could see a return to the blowouts, and I could see our first loss. Didn't have those thoughts in my head for Philly (first team except Colts who played us close,) or the Ravens (certainly THEY couldn't do it.) Now it looks like if you add everything together -- colder weather/drops, a wearyingly long season, overconfidence, etc. -- we might only be a few points better than other teams every week.

Of course, a blowout this week would be encouraging.

Ya....You hate Brett Favre??? You must be her. Lady Satan herself. I'm sorry but I can't talk to you anymore. ;)

not surprisingly no tv outlet or channel has reported these quotes..everyone is talking how pitt will beat ne

I feel pretty good about the Pat's chances on Sunday because they showed signs in the Raven's game of coming out of the "MJ" syndrome*. In particular, the passes to Maroney showed how you defeat the defense the Pats have seen in the past 2 weeks. Get the ball to Maroney (or Faulk) in space and let him create sounds like a recipe for victory. Let ignorant chest-thumpers like Smith have their day; we'll just take the W thank you very much!

Next!

* the MJ Syndrome is when the rest of the team stands around and watches for MJ (or Moss in this situation) to "create".

You found me out. My last job our home office is in Milwaukee, can't tell ya how many times I stood on a bar stool and yelled Favre S**cks! just don't get it about him, and if you've ever been there, the hero worship is cult like and quite scary.

Re: Steelers Anthony Smith guaranteed victory

well if the steelers win then he will say he said so..if they dont then it will be refs ..i can GURANTEE that will be the story.
Well, I can guarantee this. Regardless of the outcome, Patsfans WILL be crying and whining as well. You guys wouldn't have anything to post if there were nothing to complain about. Course, new material and complaints could just be concocted. Business as usual next week, I'm sure.

I was in BFE Wisconsin once in '93. I think he was still in Atlanta then. I had a good time in Wisconsin, but man was it cold. I spent a couple weeks above the Arctic Circle and it couldn't touch how cold it was in Wisconsin. Brrrr.

If anything is going to get the Patriots out of their fugue, this is it. We're going to learn what kind of late season Patriots team we have this weekend, because the Smith guarantee promises that the Patriots will put in as good a preparation as possible.

Here's hoping that means something good for us.

I monitored this MB during the Ravens game on Monday (at work). They were horrible fans (not all of them) and I was shocked. Everytime something went wrong I read "we suck" in some way. I couldn't believe it.

Some of them were chill, but getting PO'd at all the negativety.

Dude, I don't think there's anything worng with your team. It's just tough to win in the NFL and there is a reason why no team has gone undefeated since 1972 (and no one before that).

I think the loser should sweat any rematch in January though.

I was just commenting on how I thought Mike Nolin runs a tight ship. Guess not.

Don't forget run/pass catching threat Kevin Faulk!

edit: Let's hope the rookie coach DOES forget about Vrabes!

Uhh...you mean Tomlin.

Who looks remarkably like Dr Foreman (from House) to me.

Edit: Hah at Tommysgirl...great minds think alike.

I saw you there. Unfortunately, you're right. What a bunch of faint hearted dweebs on the game thread. Not the folks you'd want in a foxhole with you. Thankfully the Patriots players & coaches are not quitters.

I think the last two weeks have shown that we have a lot of problems defensively. If there's a "blueprint" for beating us, that's where it is. I'm onboard with those people who say our offense is and will be fine. This weekend, with the short rest and up against a good team, had the potential to be the "big loss" game. Thanks to the quote, the Patriots are going to be as prepared as they can be against a playoff team in a playoff atmosphere. That's why I think this is going to be a game that tells us a lot about who the Patriots will be going into the postseason.

This isn't just "the next game".

This is excellent. :D Thanks, Anthony Smith....whoever you are.

The Patriots love comments like this.

Hey, what the hell? Stuff like this gives the Steeler fans something to get excited about - at least until the Patriots rip their hearts out on the field at Gillette Sunday.

These last two games have got the Patriots fired up again. That's bad news for Steeler fans. Let them enjoy their 'guaranteed win' fantasy while they still can. LOL
