That is a great quote... Maybee Brady can fit into Ortiz and Schilling's pants and they will still be baggy....:singing:

I know that cant be Brady , only that idiot blowhard Schilling's head could be that big..

I think I might appricate the Sox and baseball if,

a - The Sox are not talked about 24/7 all the time when I always wanted Pats news..

B Curt Schilling is a horse's ... and I hated him in 2004, and even more now..

Your right a game that has 162 maybee even 180 games a yr to a team that may play on 19 sundays a yr, and are better athlete's , have a better quality product.. Yeah that sport with the stick and ball is better than any other product that is out there..

The athletic talent and degree of mental acuity that a pitcher needs is easily on par with that of an NFL quarterback. And your average skilled hitter needs intelligence, focus, and athletic form that far surpasses most every position on a football field.

I don't want to start arguing baseball and football, I love them both, but there's a reason why they call baseball the "thinking man's game." It takes a little intelligence to appreciate what's going on in a baseball diamond.

It's a lot like football, actually. People say football is incredibly boring when they don't understand situational play-calling and the overall flow of the game. A good 2-out 8-pitch strikeout can be one of the most exciting thing in sports depending on the context.

So you think that just because Tiger Woods probably can't bench much more than 160 there's not a huge amount of physical presence and control that's required to manage a correct golf swing?

It's not just swinging a bat. You're expected to be able to anticipate pitches based on the count, be aware of what kind of pitch is coming at you so you know where and when to swing, and still make solid contact with the ball in a controlled way so you're not hitting into a double play, etc.

Sigh, whatever. Some people won't ever get it. That's fine. But, while you're sh!tting on these guys athletic achievements, why don't you try hitting the outside corner with a 80mph changeup on a 2-2 count.

I get your point, but Tiger's not the right example. If you've seen the guy recently, he's absolutely ripped. Benching 160 ain't a problem for him.

does anybody esle get annoyed when dale & holley try to start some football talk and the patriots are the topic of discussion and it suddenly changes to redsox talk?the pats discussion could be good for about 10 minutes then some fool calls in and messes it all up by saying "hi guys, I just wanted to talk about the red sox,J.D. Drew in particular ". that pisses me off because I tune in for patriots talk and when the subject changes i know its never coming back .

I'm proud of boston as a sports city but we could do a little better with coverage of other teams than the sox.

I wonder how people would handle NY talk radio. Mike and the Maddog talk about whatever they want, whenever they want. The Yankees and Mets are out of it, so they're talking mostly about the World Series and the Yankees managerial search. I know some people wished they talked more football, and they do later on in the foobtall season, but it's too early right now. And their show is hugely popular.

There should be very little Pats talk on Boston talk radio right now. There's plenty of time to beat Colts-Pats into the ground, with the Sox in the World Series, it should be 24/7 Sox talk. Sorry, but that's the way it should be.

Come on guys, the Red Sox are one of the original Boston Sports Teams? How can you not love them. I love ALL Boston sports. Pats, Sox, Celtics, Bruins, BC, etc. If its a Boston team, I'll root for 'em.

And the Sox are a great team. How can you not love Papi and Manny? Or Lowell, or Youk, or PEDROIA, or Ellsbury or anyone.

Beckett is becoming of the greatest clutch pitchers, Schilling has always owned October is on his way to helping us win 2 championships. No matter what I think about his personality, I will always love him for what he helped this team achieve, and his sacrifices.

I love Football and the Patriots, but come on, there are other great sports too! I think they compliment each other nicely.

Some of guy's are classic. Boston is a HUGE baseball town. Baseball was king until the pats started winning sb's. They are about even now I guess. To question baseball coverage in Boston when the sox are playing in the world series at Fenway is so dumb it's comical.

I can't believe I am agreeing with you on something. Some one turn the heat on in hell!! :D

Um ... Uh ... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! I can hardly catch ... my ... breath ... HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! HEE HEE!!! Oh my gosh, I gotta find somewhere to sit down so I can ... heh ... HAAAAAHAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

What the ... ? AHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, you're killing me ...

So it IS true. Stupid people DO laugh a lot...

I'm truly sorry about that, and I apologize. It's just that you're seriously misinformed. Baseball at the professional level definitely is difficult and very demanding, requiring unique talent and serious preparation. But comparatively speaking in the terms you describe, the overall athletic skill sets and demands regarding training, conditioning, and ESPECIALLY mental preparation, are not as you suggest.

I love the Pats and the Sox, I admire the 2007 Boston Red Sox even more than the 2004 team, because of their mix of home grown talent, young pitchers, and lovable manager.
I have no objection what so ever on the Sox getting the lion's share of coverage while they are playing in the FREAKIN' WORLD SERIES!!!!!.

now...come playoff time, the Pats are kicking ass, and the local media is busy with the latest Sox free agent....now that will piss me off

Manny Ramirez wishes to rebut your hypothesis.

I was listening this morning around 5:30 and a caller wanted to talk about the pats and they blew him up. The host said it was a red sox show not the patriots. many times a red sox fan will call in when they are talking pats and they take the call

I've seen that lazy ****** bat plenty of times.

Shows how much you know. Manny Ramirez is one of the hardest working MLB players. He is constantly working on his swing. He is one of the most focused and skilled hitters in the history of baseball. Don't take ignorant shots at people and sports which you have no clue about.

Yeah, it's horrible. I grew up in SW Connecticut so it was inevitable. I was physically forced to attend games in the Bronx by local community groups.

The Patriots were my AFC favorite and the Giants were my NFC team. I stopped watching the Giants after a couple of their pathetic playoff collapses, but they're getting interesting again.

I don't really care much for baseball anymore. I don't have the time to spare for a game that's so repetitious and moves like molasses. I've tried watching a couple of Sox playoff games but they're just excruciatingly slow.

Then again, I tend to watch Pats games on tape and fast forward between plays and through timeouts and commercials.

Blasphemy!

Since the World Series will be over by Sun.. I hope its a sweep, since although not a big baseball fan, I could tell that the Rockies will not win a game if it goes back to Fenway... Then by wed or thurs EEI could talk about what really matters and what the biggest sporting event will be until late jan early feb... PATS VS COLTS....:rocker:
weei talks football all the time  .they do a great job of talking about both.
