Chargers fans think they're the cream of the crop again

Lots of threads on the Chargers boards talking about how *next time* they're going to beat up the overrated Pats now that they're on track again. That's got to be the ****iest fan base in the NFL. I've never seen such a bunch of talkers for a group of people who have done nothing but underachieve. It's sad and funny at the same time. ;)

They're playing great now-but just watch it in Dec-Norv Turner's coaching abilities under duress will be EXPOSED.

I'd absolutely root for the Colts without thinking twice. While I am not fond of the Colts or some of their fans, I have a lot of respect for Manning. Whereas I have little-to-no respect for that hack Rivers and he's band of blabbering whiners.

You must have loved it when Green wispered sweet nothings through his face mask in that second game. Man that was great. I don't like rivers either. And, I also have way more respect for Manning. (Dungy can leap off the next building for all I care, however.)

I'm a regular on one of the two main Charger boards, and i can assure you that there are NO threads talking about anything remotely resembling what this guy is claiming.

I also just looked at the other main board and there aren't even any Patriot threads on the home page.

The fans here are somewhat content with the progress we've made, and that's it. We're not even thinking about playing you again at this point.

Yea, but some of them MIGHT have been think'n it, so we are just cover'n all the bases. ;)

Yeah, I never check the other discussion rooms. All of the threads you're referring to are there.

Being that I live in San Diego, I know a lot of Charger fans, and rest assured we do NOT think we are the cream of the crop.

You know what bugs me?

A LOT of players on you're team are HUGE trash talking disrespectful punks.

They get beat. They become HUGE trash talking disrespectful cry-babies. A lot of their fans follow suit.

What is their problem? Makes your team look bad.

We are so in the Chargers heads now it isn't even funny. And if by some chance we do play them again, it's gonna get even worse for them.

San Diego sports fans are the worst fans in America. I dont mean 'worst' like Philly fans, I mean worst as in mindnumblingly stupid. Yeah, I'd love to see LT and his crybabies here in January to hand them their asses yet again.

You hit the nail on the head!

Man, who do you root for in that game? It'd be like watching a fight between Hussein and Bin Laden.

Surprisingly, I think I hate the Chargers more. As much as I hate the Colts, it's a very different kind of dislike - there is an underlying respect for Manning and others on that squad that the Chargers have just not earned, and likely never will as long as they are a bunch of punks.

I'd root for the dolts in a second. I don't like either team, but I at least respect the colts (minus polian obviously).....i would love to watch them go up and down the field on the worthless chargers

I believe you but man, some of those guys are out of control. Indy fans and Pats fans go back and forth because of the recent history but Chargers fans come in before every game and talk some of the worst trash for a team (fanbase) that, although dangerous, needs to concentrate on their own shortcomings instead of ours. The Chargers will be fine as long as they stop talking but the constant discrediting (by the fans) of everyone around them and the constant elevation of players to elite status is nuts.

Take a look for yourself. There are lots of Pats threads. Read through them.

Hey, don't spoil the fun with a few lousy facts.

My take on the Chargers is that over time they can come together and be dangerous in the playoffs. Just to remind Pats fans of what that means: 16-0 is meaningless in the playoffs and the team with the hot hand wins.

No, no, and no, I'm not predicting a Chargers win over the Patriots but I am just injecting my own opinion that I think there are *possibly* three, not two teams at that next level where the edge goes to the team with the hot hand on that given day.

Besides, we all know that teams morph either up or down over the season. Judging the Chargers from what we've seen already is not indicative of where they will be in December. With that kind of talent it would be foolish for a real football fan to diss them, knowing how they can get it together before December. Who cares what the record is except for home field?

While I agree that the Chargers can be a potentially threatening team, it's the fact that they're fan base doesn't seem to think it needs to eat the crow it's been served lately. They show zero respect to the true upper echelon teams of their conference. This a fan base that can't even claim they've been there before, and act like they should be treated as though they've been there before. It's hard to explain. I'd say they remind me of the Colts prior to last year, but at least the Colts were consistent, both in winning and staying competitive.

I'm conflicted. I kind of like the Chargers, but their fans...at least many of them, are really about three tacos short of a combination plate.

That said...there are a few on their boards that are grounded in reality and know something about football. It's the huge numbers of airheads that make it look bad for the rest.

The only teams of any merit who have played the Chargers so far this season have beat them...the Patriots, the Packers...toss KC in the mix as an in your face loss by a division opponent.

I remember when the Chargers beat the Colts when the colts were 13-0....that was like the superbowl around here....people are all gathered around TVs at the mall cheering and slapping hands.

I have no idea who i root for today.
Chargers are arrogant loud mouths and the colts are like some kinda freaky cult that prays to manning hoping to be chosen to go to his planet with him in his magic space ship.

couldn't root one way or the other
