Thanks for the memories Sey, but you're just another lineman these days, and an injured one at that!
Wow.
Pathetic. Just pathetic.

Jarvis Green is cheaper and better.
Do you actually believe that Jarvis freakin' Green is better than Richard Seymour? Really?
Okie we can sit here and speculate all we want. Let just wait week 6 and see what happen, and if Seymour is back by then, then everything going according to BB plan.
Dont get me wrong, I really want Seymour to be back, he is still a dominant force.
Jimke
My impression of Seymour since he received his last contract is that he is no longer among the most dedicated Patriot's players. I think he will take advantage of his PUP status for as long as he can and not be
declared fit to play until the last possible minute.
My impression of you is that you're spazzing out and that these suspicions of Seymour somehow dogging it or "pulling a Manny" are completely baseless and unfounded.
To sum it up, prior to this year Richard Seymour had played 90.625% of the regular season games in his career. That doesn't make him an ironman but it is hardly bad for a guy playing Dline.

I don't even know what to say to some of these posters.
My 2 cents...
All the nervous Nellies need to take a chill pill.
I'd be willing to bet right now that BIG SEY is activated in time for the INDY game, and if healthy makes huge contributions in the playoffs.
Gez guys, we can speculate till the cows come home, but it changes nothing.
When on the field healthy Sey is a dominant ALL PRO athlete. I want him back healthy. If he comes back for the INDY game super, but as long as we have him for the playoffs thats great in my book.
Seymour is not getting traded. Thats just silliness.
OK, so if you don't like a rational logical analysis of this situation you can go caveman on me and can me a HOMER now.
Moss made our entire offense better, Sey makes our entire defnse better.
Now go get your shinebox.
Say you disagree if you disagree. That's allowed.
But at least acknowledge that Jarvis is a talented player and we really don't lose a whole lot having him in there instead of Seymour.
And once you have acknowledged that, go further and admit that Green is an infintely more DEPENDABLE player than Seymour, who has now missed almost an entire NFL season's worth of regular games (15) in his 7-year career (87 out of 102).
Not to mention tanking it in the '03 AFC championship game against the Colts - a transgression for which I have, personally, have never been able to forgive him.
And who DID step up in that win and lead the D-Line? None other than Jarvis "Whenever you call me, I'll be there" Green.
Boston Patriot said:I'll try my best to be as inflammatory as possible since I am not now, nor ever
have been a Big Sey suckup. When he was good, he was very, very good.
He is not very, very good now for whatever reason. That is reality.
So, here goes:
I am concerned about Seymour. His performance has slipped precipitously on
the field. Whether that is due to injury, or attitude, or whatever, it is a huge
cause for concern. I have not seen any significant emphasis by an opponent on containing him when he is on the field. The next time I see him in the backfield of an opponent during a play I might not recognize him since it's been that long.
It is pretty much common knowledge that he is living off his past reputation.
Current performance (and availability) is pretty ordinary and there is no way he is earning his big green. Thanks for the memories Sey, but you're just another lineman these days, and an injured one at that!.
Why are you making an either or argument.
We have both players.
Seymour is a multiple ALL PRO.
So your argument 1) is not logical or 2) backed up by facts, why can't you wait patiently till he returns to health and production?
Excellent synopsis.
Some fans see this and some don't.
Seymour's career
Year Team Games/Starts
2001 Patriots 13/10
2002 Patriots 16/16
2003 Patriots 15/14
2004 Patriots 15/15
2005 Patriots 12/12
2006 Patriots 16/15
Yeah major durability issues.
We'll see what happens when he returns. I'm pretty sure our side will be vindicated.
So I'm a homer because I think Richard Seymour isn't dogging it and isn't now a bad player? Got it. Thanks, guys. Solid arguments.
