We kinda squandered homefield advantage last season. Do you feel HFA might've offset the injuries on our team, and allowed us to at least, advance to the Super Bowl?
In a word? No.
It wasn't altitude that tipped the snap count so guys were on Brady in 1.2 seconds. It wasn't crowd noise that had damaged most of our "quick strike" WRs that maybe could get open in that timeframe to offset that disadvantage. It wasn't drunken fans yelling "In-com-plete" that had third stringers at tackle play poorly against hot pass rushers.
The Pats didn't squander HFA. They lost it. If the Philly "trickery" works BB is his usual genius, but it didn't. He's still a football genius. Every year this team, and most in the league, lays an egg in a game. They just do - kind of like Pittsburgh did with Philly this year. If they didn't, some team would go undefeated every year...not (almost) twice in history.
Reality bites. Believe it or not, it bites a BB and TB led football team too.
