That's what Harbaugh had to say:Watched that video, can't really understand what the Ravens want changed here like, at all. The guy either fumbles or chucks it towards the goal line. Either way it's a touchback for the Redskins and should be.
What am I missing?
“If you fumble it out of bounds anywhere else, the team that loses the ball gets the ball right there. If you fumble it through the end zone, you lose the ball and you lose 20 yards of field position. [That’s] pretty hard one to figure out.”
Obviously Harbaugh conveniently forgot to mention that if the offense fumbles it out of its own EZ it's a safety. Two points and the ball for the opposition. Should we change that one too?
Seeing that play and the rule I have to think of the Champ Baily fumble in the 2005 playoffs. Without the camera angle it was really hard to overturn this, but have to wonder how that game would've gone if it was called a fumble out of the EZ. Well, even so the INT hurt, right at the goal line with a chance to take the lead late in the third.
