Just confirmed the Jets cutting Millner and Amaro. So I'll continue my mini-rant about how over rated #1 draft picks are. By all accounts the Jets have another decent team this season and when you think about just how horrible their first and 2nd round picks have been in recent years, you have to wonder just how critical they really are to building a decent team. And they've had some really high picks.
Just off the top of my head, since 2009 they've picked Sanchez, Couples, Hill, Amaro, Millner, and I'm sure they've had more. We'd be tearing our hair out with a failed line up like that, and like I said, most of them were HIGH first and 2nd rounders. And the one recent success story I can think of was Richardson. But while he's good, he's also a ticking time bomb.
Yet the Jets are the team that once again looks like the team to beat in the AFCE. So how important ARE first round picks really? (not that I ever want to be without one again)
