It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I like what I saw from Blount and Gaffney but going into the season with a QB starting for the first time with only these two options is not a good plan. It may be enough for the first 4 games but going forward it's the same weak position year after year.
After 2 years without drafting a RB and the last one was White in 2014 so I don't even remember the last power back we drafted, the idea was to get something out of other teams cuts, but that will be available only after week 4 of the pre season and god knows if there will be something decent there.
I know Karlos Willians is a bum but the guy is talented, if they give him a try they have 6 weeks to get him into a minimum football shape, that guy is better than mid season Blount. About the argument that Rex Ryan didn't hold on him, or that he cleared waivers, that means nothing for us, probably 28 out of 32 GM's in this league are idiots, their judgement means nothing, BB operates on a different level and the Patriots are a functional organization, if BB can fix him OK, if not cut and move on. The Pats needs to take a risk here man, this O-Line problems so early gives me the creeps, we will see an improvement of course, it can't get worse than last year but not much. The left side is Ok but the right side right now is a mess.
Yes the position is weak but would Donald Brown have really fixed it. At this point he is pretty close to a JAG but has experience and some vet savvy. BB tends to extend this courtesy to vets more than younger guys. Cut them early and give them a chance to catch on elsewhere.
DJ Foster.
Remember the name.
Bad signing, rectified
Unfortunately, better options were overlooked, and now the team is already at the bare bones stage at RB.
The Patriots always have bad runners, is the story...
Or is it that their OL has been terrible at run-blocking the last few years? Blount is very good when he doesn't have to make a move behind the line of scrimmage, which was exceedingly rare last year.
White is pretty good when he's not getting buried in the backfield just as he secures the ball.
That's why Lewis stood out - he could make the move in the backfield and still gain yards.
Fix the line, you fix the backs. Thuney will help with this. It'd be nice to see Mason and Cooper back out there, too.
I was big on him before he came here and was hopeful with the flashes i saw in practice but he needs to stay healthy and i knew that be an issue due to his size. He is not built to take too many NFL hits. I say PS him at this point which should be doable and see if he brings it later in the year.
I am getting the feeling that if Cooper doesn't start practicing real soon like Today he's a sure goner.
Yeah, Belichick decided to half-ass it that day and only called the first 3 available backs (they were listed alphabetically)
Good point. Belichick never makes personnel mistakes, after all, so that can't be what happened with the signing.
Certainly he makes mistakes, as does every team in the league. But you made the comment earlier that other RBs were ignored. Which RBs that signed for their new teams for only $80,000 guaranteed would you have rather signed instead?

so what about DJ Spiller ? .... Saints may be in search for a new DT
Knile Davis probably still best option .... Kansas City is in search at DE and CB
Tennessee would like to get something for Sankey ...
