Wasn't going to make the final roster anyway. No big deal.

If White or Gaffney faltered he had a chance but since they didn't he was a dead man walking.

In years past, I can recall the Pats cutting one or two guys before cutdown days but the 4-5 guys they have wacked recently seems unusual. Oh well.

Do you think RB is weaker than OT at this point?

I'd say it's a coin toss at this point. Both positions only have one starting caliber player there currently. If the news about Lewis didn't happen, OT would be the weakest position on the offense by far and away.

Remember last year with Db's? We did alright. Maybe we add another runner after other teams make cuts.

I like what I saw from Blount and Gaffney but going into the season with a QB starting for the first time with only these two options is not a good plan. It may be enough for the first 4 games but going forward it's the same weak position year after year.

After 2 years without drafting a RB and the last one was White in 2014 so I don't even remember the last power back we drafted, the idea was to get something out of other teams cuts, but that will be available only after week 4 of the pre season and god knows if there will be something decent there.

I know Karlos Willians is a bum but the guy is talented, if they give him a try they have 6 weeks to get him into a minimum football shape, that guy is better than mid season Blount. About the argument that Rex Ryan didn't hold on him, or that he cleared waivers, that means nothing for us, probably 28 out of 32 GM's in this league are idiots, their judgement means nothing, BB operates on a different level and the Patriots are a functional organization, if BB can fix him OK, if not cut and move on. The Pats needs to take a risk here man, this O-Line problems so early gives me the creeps, we will see an improvement of course, it can't get worse than last year but not much. The left side is Ok but the right side right now is a mess.

I wouldn't spend a lot of time ranking them, but yeah. I'm not as sour on Cannon as some here, and if we have injuries we have Waddle who has NFL starting experience. At RB, we have a first down guy in Blount who is not a threat as a receiver and is poor in short yardage. On 3rd down, White is good in space but lacks speed, catch radius, strength, and is no threat to run. An injury to either puts Blount in a full time role. I'd like to see veteran upgrades at both positions, but RB is the easier plug-in.

Bad signing, rectified

Unfortunately, better options were overlooked, and now the team is already at the bare bones stage at RB.

It was becoming abundantly clear that Brown, Pascoe, Biggers and the others released over the past few days were not going to make the team. I don't know for sure that BB releases veterans early so they can catch on with other teams, but if you know they're not going to make it, it seems like the right thing to do.

Pats obviously like Tyler Gaffney going foward I really don't want us depending on L. Blount only as our featured RB...Gaffney should keep him on his toes and likewise. James White and B. Boldin can alternate as 3rd down backs...I see DJ Foster on our PS.
