Weird idea I heard. The Thursday Night game vs. the Texans on NFL network. One qtr. of no show empty seats. Not the whole game. Not the home opener. One qtr. to symbolically represent 1 qtr. of the season. If you travel specifically for this game, OK, just have sign saying "FIRE GOODELL" or something. Otherwise, have an extra drink at the tailgate and be late.

I'm not sure I'd do that, but I'm not a regular at games, so the novelty is big. What do you guys think?

How does that hurt the league? All it really does is hurt Gillette concessions.

What the Patriots should do is unveil a Tom Brady banner or something like that since this is co-broadcast by the NFLN. This will be their only home nationally televised game during the suspension, and being that it is the only NFL game that night, it will get more press than if it was just one of 14 games played on a Sunday.

yeah i mean portnoy had the idea for everyone to just boycott the game- while the nfl would still make money with your idea, it certainly would make a statement.

it's just so impractical, though. i think we all know that... you aren't going to come close to convincing a fan base to waste tickets they paid absurd prices for, especially when a large portion of that fanbase probably doesn't use the internet much or even feel that strongly. it would end up looking like just a poor showing and leave us looking like a fair-weathered fan base. best thing to do would be to organize chants imo. really good chants that could get attention

i agree on some sort of protest. The chants/banners are a good idea but just aren't visible enough and the commentators can talk over them/drown them out. It needs to be seen and not ignored. How about something like this that Charlton Athletic did:

Imagine thousands of beach balls/tennis balls with 'free brady' written on them, all thrown on the field at an organised time (say the twelfth minute of the game??).
It would be something that couldn't be ignored and would be seen by the whole country. It would only disrupt the game for a few minutes but would be a real embarrassment to the league.

I don't want to miss a second of this NFLN broadcast...are you guys kidding or what? You want me to miss LL Cool Pey?

If 60,000 fans all held signs telling the world that #12 was railroaded by a corrupt NFL, wouldn't that be effective???

Do not think you can get enough people to not attend for that to be effective.. the beachball idea is a good one also.

Free Tom Brady
Fire Roger
No integrity
Ped peyton
New York tampering

There's a few chants to get us started...

My personal favorite, a spin on a college hockey chant, "a rope, a tree, HANG THE HEAD OF THE LEAGUE" (hang the referee)

I think someone handing out fliers with said chants on the way to the stadium would help a lot...

Skipped the game last night because it was on NFLNetwork .... a network not worthy of support. And my plan is to not watch one minute of regular season football unless the Pats are on the screen. No more fantasy. Pre-shows.....never. Post shows....what's the point?
The NFL has lost me.
At the end of the day...it's just entertainment and this league does not entertain me like it used to.

That's it. You win the Internet for the rest of this month. Enjoy the parking space closer to your house.

No one will skip a game, no one is going to say a chant more complicated than "Free Brady" and no one is going to pay any attention. These protest ideas keep getting more absurd as time goes on.

I quit watching all the drivel years ago. I stream every game and then download them when they're posted later that night or the next morning to watch the crystal clear copy. I've been doing it for years and it's working for me. In fact, I'm downloading last night's game as I type this.

I still think the best thing is to target his vacation home in Maine......vandalize it, burn it down, however it can be made for him to lose more than any of us

I tend to agree.

The insurance company loses , not Goody...he'll manipulate the losses to his advantage

it would still suck for him.......there's nothing for him to gain by having his vacation home burned to the ground......he gets paid 40M per.......the financial gain from his vacation home would be relatively negligible

what else? go start a fundme campaign to pay an assassin to kill him?

cant we just chant **** Roger

I like the idea, reminds me of the Liverpool fan protest last season over ticket prices...definitely a similar method of protest.

I know from being a native New Englander and Masshole, we just looooove to hold a grudge...but at some point i think we just need to let this go and get ready for the season. Brady did it and it is time for us to move on.
