They won't, it's part of the game.

Not only that, but they actually went through TC and preseason relatively unscathed last year - losing Develin, putting Stork on short-term IR, and having an UDFA in Roberts go on IR after playing half a preseason game. That's it. The team instead got battered during the regular season. All things being equal, I'd rather injuries happen in preseason than regular season - gives time for rookies and new players to develop and learn the system, and allows an opportunity for the injured guys to get healthy and contribute later. Granted, none of that happened last year - were never able to replace Develin, Andrews hit the wall at the end of the year and Stork wasn't himself when he returned. But it does happen a lot - the 2010 Packers being an example who wound up winning it all.

Some years are worse than others, for number of injuries, severity of injuries, and impact of players lost to injury. Last year, this team was unstoppable until injuries to key players struck. If James White pops an ACL instead of Dion Lewis, just for one morbid example, this team's probably got another Lombardi.

Respect, Thor. I just wanted to opine that I don't think Andrews hit a wall at all. He struggled in the second Buffalo meeting and the coaching staff panicked and, because Stork was cleared, they yanked the kid who was pretty stable to that point. I felt they rushed that decision (though the line was admittedly in flux too). Stork was not himself because I don't know if he was really ready for the pace of the game after being on the shelf for so long. I believe it's the same thing we saw with LaFell.

Stork, in my view, probably should not be in the NFL. He's risking his long term health at this point. I guess I can kind of understand it since he has not scored the kind of contract that will truly give him long term financial security. But you have to worry about a guy who has had so many concussions in such a short time. If I'm someone claiming to love him, that's a conversation I'm having with him every chance I get. But as is the case with said loved ones, most of them probably only see $$ when they look at the young fella. I hoe he knows what he's doing. The job is Andrews' to lose at this point though.

Another rookie casualty.

Chargers wide receiver Stevie Johnson will miss the 2016 season, NFL Network reported Wednesday.

The report said Johnson had successful surgery to repair the torn meniscus he suffered early in training camp but the injury will require “months” of rehab and keep Johnson out of action this season.

Report: Stevie Johnson out for season

Must have been one hell of a meniscus tear.

Is this the same Stevie Johnson who looked like a rising star many years ago...the same one who NE was rumored to have been interested in at one point?

Yep, he of this after he dropped a game-winning TD...

We offered him a contract and he picked SD.

The Bills game is looking more and more winnable, their LB'n core is going to suck cause of injuries.

Apparently Ladarius Green is considering retirement due to headaches

Ladarius Green’s recurring headaches raise questions about his future, contract
Might be slim pickin' for the NFL as more players will either choose or be forced to retire early and parents become more educated to the potential hazards of the sport and choose not to let their children play. I hardly expect it will be an overnight thing, of course, but I do expect we slowly see a shift. The information is becoming too widespread for even the powerful NFL to hide it or discredit it.

I'm not saying Green's headaches necessarily started or perpetuated with or because of football. It just sparked the thought in my mind.

Apparently his issues started after Browner's hit which he got a concussion and then last year had 2 concussions in 2 weeks at the beginning of the season. So 3 concussions in less than a year.

Thanks, JM. I didn't know that and didn't want to speak out of turn. But there ya go. I, for one, would have to think pretty diligently about allowing my son to play the sport...as much as I lilove it.

Pats WR Malcolm Mitchell out 4 weeks because of dislocated elbow, according to PFT.

Holy jamole, the Bills are a walking emergency room.
