Patriots have filed an amicus brief in support of Brady/NFLPA.

So when does Goodell penalize the Patriots another 1st round draft pick for "conduct detrimental" to the league for Kraft's latest stunt?

TBH the thought has crossed my mind. For a number of reasons it's highly remote but I'm sure it crossed Goody's mind because thats how he thinks. If you are not with him and lick his shoees your are against him.

"How dare they question my authority!"

I get why people are poo-pooing the idea that this brief will have any impact on the court proceedings. It's probably anybody's guess as to whether or not it will matter towards getting and in the en banc hearing stuff.

What is undeniable, imo, is that this will be taken as a slap in the face of the league by the league. And that's the part that I'm enjoying the most.

Yes, this is precisely the kind of positive though mostly symbolic act folks denigrated when many of us lamented Bob's failure to appeal which would have removed an oft-cited anti-Brady mantra, "his owner accepted the punishment (non-sequitur follows) because he knows Tom cheated!"

Tom Brady arrives early for Deflategate appeal, testifies under oath

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Patriots owner Robert Kraft wrote an affidavit, which was introduced into the hearing, in support of Brady's character. Kraft has been in Israel and was flying back to Boston on Tuesday, so he wasn't able to attend or call into the hearing.

We also are going to then submit the

Declaration of Robert Kraft and Mr. Kraft would have

been here to testify. You probably know he's in

Israel. So he was not able to be here to testify.

But Mr. Kraft wanted to put in evidence here

to indicate that his discussions with Tom about this

and what he believes about Tom's credibility in

terms of his relationships over a very long period

of time and what happened here, so we hope you will

give weight and consideration to somebody who we

know you trust his judgment very much and we know

that no one knows Tom Brady, at least in the NFL

better than Robert Kraft, although I am sure there

are, obviously in his personal life, that know Tom

Brady better than Mr. Kraft does.
If Kraft really wanted to be there he would have returned a day earlier.....It's not like he's flying coach and there's a penalty for changing your ticket...

Bob tried to get back early but Air Israel was stuck on the runway due to a plane needing to make an emergency landing.

I hope that it is a sign that BK has burned his bridges, that we will hear no more of what a wonderful job his good friend, RG, is doing.

No backtracking now, Bobbie.

Just because Kraft did not do the right thing over the last year doesn't mean we shouldn't give him credit for doing the right thing now.

It was a ballsy filing by the Patriots. It put 12 before 32.

Except all of this would have had more weight and a better chance to affect the results if it happened at the very least before the first CA2 session. Now, that the odds are apparently stacked completely against Brady and thus times are getting a bit desperate it is most probably too ittle too late.

****, even if the CA2 for whatever reason does agree to an en banc hearing and it ends well for Brady I will not change my feeling about Kraft being a ****ing coward when it actually mattered. The moment that RG took away the picks and suspended Brady for 4 games should have been when Kraft did something that requires balls.

He is not a bad owner but from my POV there is no way I will call him a good or great owner ever again.

Kraft is what he is. As long as we never need someone to stand up to a bully he is fine. When he has to have balls then it would have been better to have a different owner.

.03% is the typical chance. Obviously the ones that succeeded had 109% and the ones that didn't had 0. I reference .03% to address the long shot point in the process that Kraft got involved. The fact that Brady's chances may be better gas nothing to do with that.

Change or to PR since my phone decided to do the opposite on autocorrect then it should make more sense.

A little interesting tidbit I heard on WEEI that I thought I'd pass along.

Ted Olson said that Katzmann has only dissented (correct my terminology if needed) only 7 or 8 times in his time at CA2. He said that when he dissents it is a big deal especially as he does it so rarely.

Hope that makes sense.

too many people have become too emotionally invested in bashing kraft........it doesn't matter what happens now, there's no way to stop the bashing because it would require that most of these ninnies were wrong about something.........bunch of baby goodells
I was in the bash Bob category but this brief is enough for me to think I was wrong.

Interesting one now has to wonder how many of his desents went En Banc.

He has to show me more to convince me. Right now it's bipolar Bob ( no offense intended to those who suffer from mental illness) because one day it's "I demand an apology" supporting Brady..then it's backing Goodell and Roger is " doing a great job."
One day it is wellsreportcontext.com then it is "it's the lawyers at the league office, not Goodell". Then we get the amicus brief....IF his next few actions totally back Brady and NONE publicly support Goodell, I may change my stance....

oh no 3 owners are upset with Bob for doing this. lmao

You're wrong.

The Pats had a double digit lead with about 10 minutes to go in the 4th quarter.

The refs didn't cause Harper to muff a punt return, the refs didn't make the Pats throw on three straight downs with a little over two minutes to go and a lead, which wasted no time off the clock whatsoever.

So once again, no, the refs had zero barring on home field or a Super Bowl berth. There's no scapegoat. The Patriots play was the difference.

Well, let's see. There was offensive pass interference on Gronk, wiping out a 10 yard gain on 3rd and five, which was a completely ******** call. And, if I'm remembering correctly, led to the punt that Harper fumbled.

There was a pretty bogus defensive holding on safety Patrick Chung that wiped out a sack for the New England defense that would have had the Broncos facing a third-and-goal from the 15-yard line. They scored the go ahead TD after that play.

That's 14 points right there.

Reasonable stance.

Most Kraft bashers share the same thought as those owners that it was a PR move. So you haters can enjoy the fact you now have the same opinions as Irsay, Woody Johnson, and Bisciotti.

I don't think any more or less of it....it is good to see, but I'm more interested in watching football......the noise is above all....watch/don't watch .....support/don't support......whatever floats your boat

The nuisance is this assumption that a proclamation that you're not going to watch means something is silly.

Besides yourself, do you think anyone gives a crap is Kraft needs to show YOU more?
