But can he tackle? I like the 4.28 speed, but I think Leblanc is a better tackler and harder hitter. Jones is less grabby and has better balls skills so the choice between them is difficult.

You decide:

Think J. Jones has the higher ceiling, and I'm betting on him and DJ Foster to make the roster. We'll see. He's not without flaws, which is why he's an UDFA, but I had him and Cyrus Jones both rated as 3rd rounders this year, so I'd be perfectly happy with adding both of them to the squad. It's definitely a crowded group at corner, but Jones has rare traits and played for a big time program. I'm not sold on any of the other players we brought in, honestly.

Boykin was released I know myself and other posters wanted to see him added.
Hes a step up from Biggers I would release Biggers and sign Boykin and not think twice.

Love the guys speed and ball skills but he's going to need to show that he can tackle if he wants to make an NFL roster. At the end of the day you have to get the guy you are defending on the ground.

Just given your description of their skillsets, Jones sounds like a flashier fan-favorite type, so I feel inclined...to go with him. I dunno, if LeBlanc really is grabby, we could end up seeing some Logan Ryan-style growing pains, and those were pretty costly. Neither of these guys would get much early playing time, though.

Keep him in the Slot 5'9 won't cut it on the outsides in Today's NFL

Watch and learn, JJ... the key is to...

Yea I don't think you need to be an elite tackler at CB on this defense but you need to be competent. For example, Asante was average at best tackling here but clearly he made up for it in other areas.

Is Malcolm 5-9, 5-10 or 5-11? I swear I have seen all three somewhere or another.

5'9' 1/2", I think, and scrawny as heck when he came into the league. He was the 89th-ranked CB in a class that was considered to have 30-40 draftable CB prospects. You really can't overstate what an amazing story he's been.

Yea. What I do know is that JE11 is taller than WW who was 5-9. JE11 is listed at 5-10. In the pics from the Grammys, it seems to me that JE11 is just a tad taller than Malcolm but it could be from that pompadour hair going....5-9 1/2 for Malcolm seems right I think

Agree. Id also add that he looks smaller on film than his combine weight of 186. Makes me wonder if he beefed up for the big day.

I'm not as concerned about the kids height as I am about his tackling ability. Butler is a bit shorter than one would like but he's an elite tackler which more than makes up for it.

And they let Samule walk in his prime. It kind of makes the point that they value tackling more than other skills imho.

Jones is 5/12" inch shorter than Butler from the combine. Butler was 5096 (5 Ft, 9 6/12 In) and Jones was 5091.

Despite his 4.33 40, Jones had a terrible 7.25 three cone.

The first time i saw his tape i instantly liked him. smaller CBs are so undervalued. They can do a lot of great things but people freak out about putting them on big WRs. All you have to do is not do that. Make sure you have some big safeties or a big CB you can throw in against them.

Another way of putting it is they franchised him and paid him $8 million for one year.

Yep. That and his leaping ability is what makes him damn good.
