SI Article: Deflategate, One Year Later

This is a pretty detailed rehash. Don't think it'll make much difference in the court of public opinion though. The only way to make up for what happened is win another one.

When it is all said and done, it is a victory for the NFL, Goodell and the other 31 owners and their teams. For a totally specious violation, we have lost a first and fourth round draft pick and had the teams' and GOAT QB's reputation dragged through the mud. The POS and his minions in the league office are stronger than ever. Nice going BOb

Ted Cruz, while campaigning in New Hampshire, said that Brady was framed. If Donald Trump were to say the same thing, that could bring more negative publicity to the NFL.

Why are we doing this to our selves.

I'm not letting another superbowl run being ruined by a dead story.

Because it reminds us that the NFL front offices are rife with corruption at all levels. They can take away anything we think we have earned at any time for any reason, and our owner will not do a single thing to protect us.

It is good to have this reminder before we foolishly invest anymore of ourselves into the product of their corruption. There is no more integrity in the competition than there is in the WWE, and we would be wise to remember that before getting too emotionally involved.

Hillary said it was troubling....but that is her answer to everything. "What would you like for breakfast Mrs. Clinton?......... Breakfast is troubling." "Did your husband, the ex-President, spend last night with his mistress, the Energizer? The Energizer is troubling"

I don't know, it's hard to "look back on something" that IS STILL GOING ON.

EDIT: I see that it starts with the whole nothing was going to happen until the Colts intercepted a pass nonsense, which I think has been pretty much debunked as the start or source of anything. Also, there's no way anybody who hates the patriots is going to take even five minutes to read any of it.

Ted Cruz, while campaigning in New Hampshire, said that Brady was framed. If Donald Trump were to say the same thing, that could bring more negative publicity to the NFL.

And when he campaigns in Indy, he'll almost certainly say that Brady is a filthy cheater who deserves death by firing squad.

No way any one-off campaign statement by any politician is going to make anyone change their mind on deflategate.

This article reflects how great it was that Brady and the Patriots had the season they did. Brady having one of his best years and the Patriots having one their lowest fumble rates in a decade pretty much shoved the whole "competitive advantage" bull Sh*t up Roger's ***.

If Brady and the Pats had had a mediocre season statistically we would have never heard the end of it.

I've moved on from the mess. I was invested from the day after the bowl to the day the suspension was lifted, no more. I won't read or care about the NFYL's appeal. Brady misses 4 games next year or he doesn't.

Any haters that still give a **** about it can go play in traffic. **** all of 'em.

"I did not overinflate anything." ;)

That was a really great article. It should be a must read for all Pats fans here.

One thing in particular was interesting to me. McCann did a good job explaining Bob Kraft's actions after the penalty was handed down, by pointing out his very limited options at the time. Later he unfortunately in MY personal opinion, points out why a Brady defamation suit is also very unlikely. Based on the time and invasion of privacy involved, I would be hard pressed to see it happening, even though it would be the only way to totally clear his name and expose the corrupt cabal at 354 Park Ave.,

There is no question in my mind that he would win this suit because just by what we know from testimony, the NFL knew Brady was innocent and still went out of their way to smear him. There was clearly malice by the league. But the time he'd have to spend aiding his lawyers and the smear job and invasion of privacy that would be entailed in the discover phase, might make the process too onerous.

So like Flasox, the NFL is going to "get away with this". What a shame.

Everyone send this off to the new ESPN Ombudsman

Does anyone want to borrow my famous scratching post?

its pretty stupid that the NFL CBA gave so much power to Goodell. I mean according to this he could really have done almost anything to the Patriots as punishment.
