In all honesty, the Titans not only have Mariota but also have a couple potentially good receivers. He would probably want a better RB than Andrews or Sankey, though Cobb is there I think but injured.

Could make a run at Forte or Martin if they hit FA

Also doesn't hurt that he is probably gonna have the 1st pick.

Surprised. I thought they'd give him another year, but he must have really pissed Laurie off to get let go before the season ended.

My view on his "system" is that it works in college when there is a large gap in talent between a team like Oregon and most of its opponents but the hurry up and all the arm waving doesn't fool NFL teams for long and even "mediocre" teams can adapt after they've seen it a couple of times, which is pretty much what happened.

it also didn't help that he made some bad personnel moves.

but I can't get over the fact that Laurie let him go before Monday. Something either went very bad or he asked out to interview at another college.
