Was Norman right? No. But OBJ blatantly tried to severely harm Norman. Norman may be a gigantic tool, OBJ is a ****ing *******, and this is NOT the first game he's swung at people without getting ejected, it's the 3rd or 4th that I can think of. He has a clear history of violence on the field. He's approaching the "shouldn't be allowed in the league" stage rather quickly with his on field attitude, I really don't care how much of a saint everyone insists he is off the field.

Football isn't played off the field. And OBJ doesn't belong on it.

No, Norman definitely isn't blameless, I just feel an almost sympathetic tide shift towards OBJ after his article.

I also find it pathetic if this is OBJ's excuse for trying to maim Norman, "They p-p-p-pointed bbbaseball bats at me!" Yeah, even if they did that, thousands of cameras and millions of eyes witnessed recognizable faces being immature. You really feel threatened when if they actually did anything to you they'd be caught in less than a heartbeat?

I don't buy it. OBJ is the biggest idiot in this scenario by far and it isn't close. He does deserve more than a game.

If we're doing an "Arrogance!" watch, here are a couple of candidates:

Pittsburgh passing late in the game, on their own side of the field, when conventional football wisdom says you run there to keep the clock moving. The Pittsburgh Tony Mazz would claim that happened because Tomlin and Haley wanted to show everyone how much smarter they are.

Tyrann Mathieu suffering a season ending knee injury late in a blowout win. "You're up by 23 points with 2 minutes to go! Why are your key players still on the field?!?"

People call Brady arrogant pretty often. That's always one I don't understand. The only arrogant thing I've ever heard him say was that dumb comment about how many points they'd score before the first Giants Superbowl.

Every other time I've heard him speak, he is one of the most humble people I've listened to. Never taking credit, always giving it to his teammates, always taking the blame when he makes a mistake. His interview on WEEI this morning had some really great moments, just talking about how lucky and blessed he was and feeling empathy for other people who are facing challenges. Sounded real too.

If Adam Jones slamming Amari Cooper's head into a helmet only warranted a token fine, then by comparison the game that Beckham got is borderline harsh. Not even a little consistent by the league, but I don't think more than a game was ever really a consideration.
