How do you know he wasn't coached to fair catch that?
I dont .Same way you know he was coached to. My point was that he shouldnt have been out there in that weather in a critical situation.

On Monday, the club also took a closer look at free agent wide receiver/return specialist Damaris Johnson and running back Terrence Magee.

Johnson has played for the Eagles (2012-13) and Texans (2014). The 5-foot-8, 175-pound Johnson had 31 receptions last year with the Texans, playing in former Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien's offense. He has both kickoff and punt return experience.

Magee (5-foot-9, 215 pounds) is an undrafted free agent out of LSU who has spent time with the Baltimore Ravens this season, splitting time between their practice squad and active roster (two games).

After 4 quarters in Denver, fatigue starts to affect decision making. Denver has the greatest home field advantage by far.

Hey maybe that explains the 60+ year old refs making ridiculous calls the entire 4th quarter

I said I suspect, not know, that he was coached to fair catch it if a defender was close. I see no reason why he shouldn't have been out there. He fielded many punts in college and the first and second string returners are hurt. Failing to call for a fair catch in that situation is a bonehead move whether he was explicitly instructed to or not.

The Pats should file a protest of this game. Use all the media roasting of the refs as fuel

Your ad hominem attack demonstrates an inability or unwillingness to address my arguments. I can accept a differing opinion, but not the sort of lazy crap crap I've seen you post. The sad thing is that I know you're capable of better as I've seen some excellent posts from you.

Ignorance of the requirements would explain a legitimate failure to understand that mental toughness is by no means the only reason one would take one's eye off the ball on a punt.

Making a joke would, obviously, explain your comment.

Trolling would also, obviously, explain your comment.

I did not attack you personally, or your character, in any way, so there was no ad hominem attack on my part.

Maybe, but not nearly as much as the guys who are throwing their bodies around the whole time. That said, altitude affects everyone differently. Some people experience little effect while extreme cases can cause nausia and shortness of breath.

I also suspect maybe he wasnt asked to fair catch. I am not letting him off the hook but he made a rookie mistake which could've been avoided if they put chung or someone else out there in that weather in those conditions on the road in that game situation. Just my opinion.

A fair catch would have likely iced the game.

Likely, but no guarantees. They could have fumbled a hand-off afterwards. Who knows. They had plenty of other chances to ice the game. If Chung catches the deflection from DT, the game is probably over. If the Pats had recovered the Broncos muffed punt, the game is probably over. I don't care either way if Harper is on the team, but you can't pick one guy out and say he lost the game for the Pats.

Whether you like the kid or not, you must wonder: Can we really afford cutting him? I understand he's not the second coming of Randy Moss by any stretch, but given all of the injuries we currently have at WR, who is going to take his place? Isn't he last on the depth chart at WR?!?!? Is there anyone even behind him on the DC???? .....and no, I don't count Slater as a WR.

Probably end up back on the practice squad.

Was probably the plan once Amendola could play anyway.

The best part of the video is him yelling at the top of his voice like a wild man, and the dog, instead of getting excited, is just sitting calmly with a look on his face like "just a normal night with my master" :D

Most likely the case, but if Amendola is good today, why did they hold him out last night?

If Amendola plays, the Pats win, I'd bet my house on that.

Seems silly to rest him and go into the game with Martin and Chandler as option #2 and #3, when Dola was rumored to be good, but seemingly held out due to caution.

I'll take the my chances with a gimpy Dola and a win, then no Dola and a loss.

Amendola maybe ready to practice and play next sunday. Maybe not 100% yesterday. They decided to protect one main WR they had after edelman went down.

No idea why they would hold DA out, just like I wouldn't speculate anything shefter says (said two different things today) unless BB lists it on the practice report.

I hear ya, but this was the biggest game left on the schedule, home field in the balance.

Amendola at 50% is worth being in uniform if his one or two catches ice the game.

Clearly having no offensive security blanket for Brady was a big difference between winning and losing.

I don't know, seems like he was healthy enough to practice all week and was just held out due to caution, which is un-Belichick like.

Bill Belichick on D&H: There will be plays we see different from officials

One of the biggest momentum shifts in the game came early in the fourth quarter when undrafted rookie Chris Harper muffed a punt and the Broncos were able to take over and have all the momentum swing to their side.

“No, it was definitely catchable,” Belichick said. “Look, Chris has done a good job for us. He’s handled the ball in a lot of conditions here at practice that have been as bad, if not worse last week in the Buffalo game. He had a couple of tough catches where he had to run to get the ball on the sideline. It’s one of those plays where I’m sure he’d like to have back. There were plays I am sure every other player would like to have back somewhere along in the game. There are calls every coach would like to have another shot at, but that’s it.”
Seems more like a regular roster move than a cut due to the play.
